Nice, second good singleplayer game i've lost my save games of, first JC3 and now Mafia III im done with singleplayer games...

It even says on the store page "cloud saves" while the game doesn't even supports it.

I think your argument is not valid, just look at it this way:
    1. Every other game works (DOOM, Mortal combat X, witcher 3 Wild hunt...), even GTA V and it plays
    2. If my CPU can still play all other games.... no point to go to the next level (if i don't want).
    3. If the games was so optimize for last HW that it will make everyone say wow then your point is valid but the game is a joke at optimization so .....
    4. Not everyone wants a state of the art PC to play games at max possible FPS ! Some I like to play just above 30 FPS, but to be able to not to not start....
    5. Many people still use old hardware ....
    6. If you say it can't be played on older hardware you are very wrong, or maybe brain wash (no offense intended) by companies that want you to buy every hardware they make ...., they work and at playing FPS !
    7. If you say no old hardware, then what is the point for low, medium settings ...
And to see that i can prove what i write here, here is the video of GTA V on max settings (except motion blur) 1080p: h***s://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pcyhqclvq9s&feature=youtu.be
Sorry for being a little off topic and for the low quality of the video (used a phone) and i hope i don't get a warning, but i hate when people thing that only the best hardware works for gaming !!:)

CTDs come from mostly low System resources it needs a very heavy machine especially with high resolutions and reflection quality on it's fullest combine this with the highest Level of Ambient Occlusion and Geometry Details and also the CPU starts to glow ;)

Took a look at 1.01 and it's not so bad at all for the results partly on the level we wished Watch_Dogs 1 to be @ Night from the Lighting E3 Presentations before being downgraded.

The Planar Reflections have a pretty high Resolution overall not typical either yet.

For 30 fps even at UHD pretty solid also the the threading optimization wasn't done so bad at all, the base lowest preset layer has more fidelity then most other games at higher preset settings.

And at Lowest Volumetrics it's pretty decent and doesn't feel overdone like currently most of Nvidias Volumetric results.

Some rooms are maybe a little to overdone but it adds atmosphere to them not deniable.

The Streaming is pretty decent and nicely optimized comparable to GTA 5 not on the Bloody failing Watch_Dogs release state status, the threading works nicely and doesn't lock the Streaming at all.

Runs Pretty Decent i hardly get the GTX 970 into the 21 FPS range (which is pretty easy doable in The Witcher 3 Umbra based Lod or Fallout 4.

I expected far worse results from most reports.

60 FPS is pretty doable when going to lowest preset levels and it will look way better then other titles at those rendering wise.

Though they set expectations way to high with the Pre Rendered and in Game cutscene mix ;)

im searching the Temporal AA and PP knoob currently to disable everything and get some plain results from their engine ;)

4.4 MB output though is pretty weak almost no High Frequency at all

And yes its our so much loved Chromatic Aberration back again :)

Hardly usable in this state for the PS4 Pro UHD at all compared to the other breathtaking looking release titles :D

The Raycasted clouds in a Road Streaming Scenario :)

They don't looks as nice as a perfectly pre rendered skybox yet but they are full light Dynamic which looks crazy nice in Motion :)

Look at yourself pretty awesome in a deffered renderer in this quality :)

Though for sure the whole Game is a nice GPU Overclock stability tester especialy with reflections on Highest Quality ;)

You can also see the extreme Bloom and Adaption in action which would be even HDR Ready ;)

I wonder though if the Engine has a Memory Lock and detects the GTX 970 and doesn't allow me to stream in the high quality textures.

Wow a empty Dynamic Volumetric interior Scene at almost 21 fps :D

Wonder how high the Volumetric cost is here.

Waiting for the next patch, until then it's still in my Top 5 "optimized ports" to PC:

1-Batman: AK, Epic Steam refund policy milestone.
2-No Man's Sky, lost 99.8% Steam users since launch.
3-Quantum Break, "even with one GTX 1080 and the right settings, you should be able to get an enjoyable experience out of the game.".
4- Mafia III, GTX 1080 is not enough for 1080/60...gimme a Titan X!
5-PES 2017, “We’ve answered many times, it’s a shame you haven’t seen it. Do not expect it same level as PS4/XBone.”.

This is what annoys me most about today's games.
2 steps forward, 3 steps backwards.

By the time this game is fixed it'll be at a price point I'm comfortable with, at least it seems like they'll keep patching it until it's actually finished unlike many other devs who just say sod it.

Nahh GTA 5 granted they did pretty marvelous balancing though they have many more visual issues especially without a real Temp AA solution and Nights look not as dynamic as in either Watch_Dogs or Mafia 3 also their Planar Reflections aren't as nice only daytime tod shined with GTA 5 as well and lets not speak about all the dithering and shadow rendering issues ;)

And Maffia 2 Graphical wise get serious ;)

Even Rocksteady and their Porting studio did nice work the only major downfall was the Streaming locks purely optimized for a Unified Memory Pool.

Next is Watch_Dogs 2 and sooner or later GTA 6 with a pretty big Engine update but before we gonna see what Square Enix achieved with Final Fantasy 15 and their own Engine and combined R&D with CD, Avalanche and Io Interactive very soon :D

You are basically running a gtx770 with those clocks. This is how it performs on our cards High settings. At this state i would not recommend getting the game.

Jesus i never before felt Afterburners actuall measurements being totaly absurd compared to the smoothness of the render output :)

It is crytal clear controllable latency is pretty low much lower then you would expect from Rivatuners Data here :)

No locks presentation time feels pretty instant on the GTX 970 :)

Pretty crazy how small the actual transferred data is for the output result

This surprises me so much that im not sure if this here is now a pre rendered video cutscene or realtime and boost missed the clock down when the video started ;)

Aimed for the Head while taking the Screenshot in the exact same timeframe ;)

    Nice Refraction result :)

I've liked my time with it. Imperfections and all.

I understand the mixed feelings it's getting. It isn't perfect like a GTA title.

I don't really get why people find length in an open world RPG title like Skyrim (100s of hours) to be a "plus" but find some extra length in an open world shooter to be such a turn off. All of it is a bit of a grind. Sure, one could play straight though the main RPG quest in under 20 hours but who does that?

Buy a new CPU, the game relies heavily on that. Having no perf issues whatsoever with the 6700k,

    I agree.
23 hours into the game and enjoying the hell out of it.
Yes, it's rough around the edges.... but that alone doesn't make it a "bad game".
Personally, it seems far too many people have stopped caring about the parts of a game that really matter in favor of fancy visuals and frame rates.

Too many of the STEAM reviews are just lazy, few word statements like "Graphics suck".

Maybe -if possible for you taste- try to overclock your cpu.

No overclocking for his CPU and his MB.

Sadly, 3.2ghz i5 isnt enough this days for such a CPU heavy games.

Im on a i5-2400 @ 3.2 GHz no issues while Driving way better optimized then @ the release time of Watch_Dogs :)

granted it's totaly on the Edge in this game really @ the Edge of where Windows can still be stable Utilization wise and the GPU driver still getting enough CPU time for doing his job :D

You realize that it was totally optimized for the PS4 and Xbox One Multithreading capabilities and that Multithreading fine Tuneing was done very very nicely and with care :)

Granting a very low input latency and avoiding lock situations.

GTAV is nowhere near as resource hungry as people thought it would be.
It's not really a title to use as an example of "My PC can play this..." type of game.

As even before I upgrade my PC and was using a 750ti... I was able to run it at recent settings at a solid clip.
And yes, Mafia III is far more CPU intensive then GTAV is.
