Exactly, and now they definitely killed it.

Maybe we'll see a "spiritual successor" to Mafia 1+2 one day... but the Mafia names is ruined.

2K Czech didn't develop Mafia III because they were not in a position to do so.
Since the release of their last game (in 2011) they've had to shut down their Prague Studio, lawoff people from their other studio... and shelve the only game they had been working on.

Also, a lot of former 2K Czech employees that lost their jobs now work at Hanger13.

And personally, I'm really enjoying Mafia III. The story is great. The characters, writing and dialog are engaging and entertaining.
Yes, it's a little rough around the edges... and the use of TAA is overdone, blurring the image a lot.
But, doesn't change that it's actually a solid game. And it wouldn't be the first time a good, fun game is fumbled at release on PC.

I still play Vampire: Bloodlines and that game, even with the fan patches, is still a mess.
And, it's hilarious that Bethesda gets a pass on all their bugs and issues... yet, other studios have the similar (not even as bad) issues... and it's beyond horrible.

Damn the game looks ugly as hell. The outside environment Is too bright and washed out while Inside buildings It's too dark. PS textures and the roads look like a PS2 game.

I would love to have an occasional 30 fps dip maxed out at 1440p :D
But something tells me that ain't gonna happen in the near future.

They had to? Or 2k simply cut costs now they had the IP they wanted?

"lot"? How many? As far as I understand there's really no former Illusion Softworks/2k Czech working on the game, there was someone maybe working on the story that's about it is all I heard?

Nice try? Interesting response, what am I "trying"?

What was the "supporting role" and how many played a part in the role? I'm sure you have some link to share if you know this for a fact?

Your claim of theft is pure bs. Googling is hard.

"Hangar 13 is an American video game development company located in Novato, California. The studio is the newest 2K studio and is headed by Haden Blackman. The studio is currently developing, with assistance from 2K Czech, Mafia III."

"We have relocated and consolidated our 2K Czech team from our Prague facility to centralise resources in our location in Brno. Additionally, we are transferring some development resources from Prague and Brno to 2K headquarters in Novato, CA," said 2K in a statement sent to Eurogamer.

"This transition will both strengthen the integration of the 2K Czech team with our award winning development teams, and better align cross-functional business practices. As part of this realignment, we are adjusting our staffing levels, resulting in the elimination of some positions."

@Amaze I remember a LOT of czech names in Mafia 1/2 credits. How many are there in Mafia 3? That should clear things up a bit.

2K has owned the Mafia IP since 2008, when they bought Illusion Software (2K Czech).
Two years before they released Mafia II.

And there have been several stories, articles and interviews with both 2K, 2K Czech and Hanger13 stating the game was developed with help from 2K Czech.
That they assisted on everything from story, gameplay, style and continuing from the previous Mafia title.
    Just as Amaze stated.

You can be upset about how Mafia III has turned out on PC all you want, but you don't need to try and spin blame that isn't there.

I'll wait for performance metrics to come out.

It I can't do 1080p 60 on high, i'll skip it just like quantum break, pick it up years down the line for cheap with a new gpu.

I can almost guarantee you, that you cant run the game on 60fps maxed out at 1080p. Indoors yes, but on the streets, no.

Why do you think I used italics?

Ask Daniel Vávra what he thinks of 2k Czech and their treatment of Illusion Softworks devs and the Mafia IP...

    Good question indeed.

PC players, reboot Mafia III because patch 1.01 is now available for download. This patch includes 30, 60, and unlimited frames-per-second options on PC. To select your framerate, just head to the display menu in-game. Just make sure to tailor the framerate settings to the power of your machine. This patch also includes improvements to keyboard remapping, so head to the controls menu to check out the options. Note: this patch resets keyboard mapping to default, so any changes you made to the controls previously will need to be customized after installing the patch.

Just tried it out, max settings (though Motion Blur off) and it's running at around 58fps all the time.
Occasionally it'll hit 60, and I saw it drop to about 52 at one point. But, either way... it's a solid improvement over 30.

Also, they didn't just fix the issues with remapping controls. They redid the control menu. It's much easier to navigate now.
And, all settings reset after the patch. Graphics and controls... so, remember to go back in and re-configure everything.
