I fell through the map in the demo... it must be some sort of glitch.

So, I just finished the game. All I can say is "Really?"
I hope some dlc is on its way FAST.

    Getting the stuttering thing

    A q6600 with a gtx460 and 4gb of ram should be enough?

    Happens regardless of physx.

I tried a second card (9600gt) to dedicate to physx but it had no effect - showed 30% load though on GPUZ

That's with the clothing fix and physx on medium.

1900x1200 - AF 16 no AA- Vsync on

Hello everybody, I have two glitches on my boring Mafia II:

1 - During the game occur several lags that much bother, especially when driving.

2 - Randomly occurs in the game simply crashes, exiting to the desktop, but if I try to enter another game the whole picture is distorted. Ae have to be forced to restart the computer.

OBS.: I'm using catalyst 10.7aeo PhysiX last driver, but play with it off.

Are the cut scenes "laggy" for anyone else? The game itself runs at 60 fps stable with vsync and the cut scenes are high FPS but they don't look smooth.

Anyone else noticed the game runs much better during the night time levels? Not just a bit better, I mean a whole lot.

I'm currently making my way around the Highbrook area and slammed my way through some large garden gates - with a public bus. Lo and behold I found a wanted poster behind the house. :D

Wanted posters are my new Far Cry 2 diamond hunt obsession. Gotta find 'em all! I'm currently on 21....out of 159. Gulp.

Anyway yeah, I have fraps running right now and I'm hitting 55-75fps at night with no lag to speak of whatsoever.

If only playing in the daytime was this smooth. :(

You have a whole 2GB more ram than I do dude. And a better cpu. ;)

I can still hit 50+fps in the day, it's just the constant stutter tends to spoil the experience somewhat.

Nope, not here. Maybe try defragging? I had the "car falling into a void" happen once also. A police car crashed hard into me on a bridge, sending my car and the police car down to the ground below, only to fall through the ground and into the void. Just me and Joe in our car and a police car behind us, falling into nothingness. After peacefully falling for a while, Joe suddently says not to drive so fast and that this ain't no Daytona Speedway. He certainly was right about that:)

Dammit for me it's just the opposite. I'm playing @ 1920x1200 maximum settings w/o physX, I get nice FPS throughout the game (almost always between 45-60 (V-sync on)), and during the daytime I have minimal load stutter. In the evening it starts to get worse and at night it really sucks. FPS doesn't go down much but the game just starts to stutter while driving.

Physical mem usage is at 1940 and virtual reaches 2850.

In that physx is off, I don't know what I should do in order to get smooth gameplay while driving in the evening/night.

BTW, all cutscenes are silky smooth; it's just the driving-at-night crap...

I loved Mafia 1, but Mafia 2 was a bit of a disappointment. Still a very good game but not what i expected.

    ~7.5/10
