Hate this thread died down. Got rid of my Fuji E550 and got a Canon A95 which I'm enjoying a lot better as you can tell:

Omg, can't get that kind of pics with my A75, actually I can but the resolution can't handle so much zoom. My old Sony DSC-P50 had 3cm macro, only one other thing that I miss, everything else is better.

I'm enjoying my Canon A95 but would like to get a new Digital Rebel XT (350D) DSLR in the near future.

Hehe, I hardly ever post here anymore, and I got my first camera a couple of months ago, a Fuji Finepix S5100. Anyways I post (almost always) daily images in my LiveJournal. I need a close-up lens though, anyways, here's a few I've taken.

I don't consider that squirrel picture macro though, I was standing about 10 feet away anyways. 10X optical zoom helps a lot.

Nice shot with the Nikon PS. Here's one of a weed in my yard:

Shooting Mode Shutter Speed Priority AE
    Photo Effect Mode Vivid
    Tv (Shutter Speed) 1/2000
    Av (Aperture Value) 4.5
    Metering Mode Center-weighted averaging
    Exposure Compensation -2/3
    ISO Speed 50

    Forced the Shutter to 1/2000

  14. Nice one r3g
Try using a paint package to rotate the image, as it looks like its growing upside down..
But its a great shot,, cool to see the droplets of rain on the flowers..
Sometimes you dont have to spend a fortune on a Camera to capture a close shot..... a steady hand (Tripod better) and a good supply of light can make the difference, then oh my camera is better then yours..
