there's benefit if your cpu is weaker than gpu, or if you use vsync in FPS games but in my experience can introduce a lot of tearing
it always messed up system up. I tried running 3dmark and it corrupted my nvidia display driver. and I had to reinstall the drivers to get to work again. but every time I ran 3dmark with lucid virtue my display drivers stopped working correctly.
