just dont download 9x.xx drivers yet. On my 7800GS they ruin FPS by 15-25%
Best drivers i used so far are 84.66 (and using them right now)
Run driver cleaner first, then switch to cab cleaner (same program, look for that option in one of tabs)
Then get RivaTuner to OC your card.

I dont understand what u mean?
Everything maxed means maximum GPU/CPU detail + Supersampling = 50-60fps in FEAR. I'm more than pleased with my rig.

1024x768 8xAA/16xAF, SuperSampling on, everything maxed in the game.

Is there a way to play in 1280x1024? Cause I got a 17" LCD monitor.

Did you format after changing out the cards? or at the least do a very thorough run thru DriverCleaner with the Cab Cleaner included. If there are any traces of ATI drivers.device ID's etc they are not gonna play nice with NV.

most of the 17" LCDs support 1280x1024 resp the native resolution is this. but the thread is about some other problem. You guys that are posting frames from FEAR , just go and jack you scores , this guy has some serious problems and doesnt need your scores he needs to get his up.

Gimme that helmet... I need to barf!

The GS+ just runs just as quick a 7900gt pci-e on same clock's.

With no vmods 9400 in 3d5 and 4700 in 3d6 is good enough, all of my games run maxed at 1280x1024 my old 850xt pe did not...

don't you think your over reacting a little ? "flying the framerates ???" for god sake it's only a 7800gs+ what should users of 7900GT or GTX say ??? what should users of SLI say ? "the framerate is so high it hits them in the head ?" :)))))))))) or what ???

what should a user on an FX60 and SLI 7900GTX or 1900XTX Crossfire say ???

    lol, another one...

well, let me get this through to u then... no matter how much u oc your 7800gs+, even after that high oc, your card will still be just under a performance of a stock 7900gt...

as frag-masters 3dmark (and many others) scores show, even after his best oc on his card, he's still getting worse results than I get on my 7900gt @ stock...

Just because the card uses the same core, it doesn't mean it's as good as the 7900gt.... There's many factors limitin that card, like the agp bridge, agp bandwith, lower clocks, slower memory (instead of putting 512 of cheap slow memory on those cards, they should've use the same quality memory modules as used on 7900gt imho).

All in all, it's not a bad card, but hardly scraping 4100 points in 3dmark06 and then comparing it to 7900gt is a ****ing joke...

And please 7800gs+ owners, stop making your cards look better than everything else on the market, it really drives me up the wall...

Firstly, I can't beliave that. Even 7900GTX would have hard time with 8xAA and 16xAF + soft shadows and everything maxed, and of course that card would be powered with dualcore prosessor.
Secondly, you can play in 1280x1024 by tweaking your FEAR ini or what is it called.

@ Soosman: How old is your WinXP install? (I assume you have XP) Because if it's like over 6 months old, formatting would do more than good for it :) Also try defragging all of your hard drives, I recommend Perfect Disk for defragging, it will take longer to defrag but I have read reviews and they all are saying that it's one of the best programs for defragging :)

U can't believe what? That I can play FEAR on average 50fps with those settings?
Well trust me mate, I can.
So go buy a 600$ CPU to get another 10fps, personally I don't give a crap.

no, you're spamming and giving misleading information to people... every time u say 7800gs+ is as powerfull as a 7900gt, you're lying... It's not true and I'll come here and tell people that it's cheaper to buy a pcie mobo and a 7900gt then buying the overpriced 7800gs+.

Because some people might believe what u say and buy a £300 card, when u can get a x1800xt 256 that will w00p the floor with your 7800gs+ for less than £170. That's a lot of change left, so go figure...

and ye, u make me laugh...
