Hello! I just upgraded my GPU from a Asus rog strix 3070 to a Asus rog strix 3080. Before I made the switch I benched my 3070 using Time spy, Fire strike and the in-game benchmark in Ghost recon Wildlands. Everything seemed ok with the time spy and fire strike result (30% increase in score) but in GR my avg fps dropped from 73 to 40 with the same settings. Picture of benchmark results in GR: 3070: https://ibb.co/1KWF2N0 3080: https://ibb.co/SrLdvNb Before making the switch I uninstalled the drivers with DDU in safe mode and installed the same version (466.11) of the driver after installning the new gpu. Any suggestions on how I proceed?
But of an odd one from me, but I always do a clean install of windows with a new GPU. Kind of makes a clean slate.
I just said it because ingame bench is based on game engine who can be better optimized for some cards
Remember the days of XP? We used to do a clean install every 12months as the OS used to get so junked up, also we was upgrading our hardware back then practically annually or less.
Yeah, I think I'll try clean install. The computer is a little bit older than 3 weeks though, so it was not the first thing that came to my mind.
how did you solve maybe it'll help others who may face similar issues in future if you share the solution.
It was silly, I checked the log files and saw that there was a difference in the settings. If you use the preset ultra, everything will not be changed. The resolution scaling was not changed when you set settings to ultra. I changed it to the same value and got avg 85 fps
