I am having a problem with my computer. I just brought some life back into my older 754 AMD 2800+. I have the computer overclocked to 2.25 Ghz (250 FSB) and have an XFX 6800. The pipes won't unlock but the vertex shader will. Well, I unlocked the shader and ran 3DMark05 last night and am getting 366X with the latest NForce 3 chipset and video card drivers. Shouldn't this computer hit 4500 at stock clocks? I also noticed that as I overclock higher and higher, my score and frames drop.
Well this should be in the Nvidia section first of all. Yes, your card isn't scoring exactly up to par. Which 6800 specifically do you have? Some are unlockable and some aren't. It depends on your manufacturer, build date, and series.
I think those scores are correct. U just have to overclock and set everything to high performance from drivers. AA=off, AF=off, discrete monitor timing = on, v-sync=off. Ur CPU is holding u littlebit also. edit. 1 thing also... What 6800 u have. SOme have 128bit memory that slow em down, Some have 8 pipes only.. etc.
Yeah, i have the Rosewill Geforce 6800 128MB, with a P4 3.0Ghz HT 800mhz FSB 1gig Ram, and with 3dmark05, my system does not even reach 2500's. And your CPU, "AMD 2800+, thats "old school", maybe if you get a 64bit you could get a higher score
While the Athlon XP isn't exactly brand new, the 64 bit version of the Athlon doesn't have any immediate performance gains. The only instance it would be faster is if it has a larger L2, higher clock speeds, or more efficient/cooler core. Just because they're 64 bit, doesn't mean they're "faster."
those scores look correct, since you only managed to unlock the vertex shaders, and not the pipelines.
