    Theres one up for sale for NZ$220.

    Is it worth it?

    I know its an old card, but theres nothing out there atm that i want to play that im willing to spend more than $350.

    (Though the r9 380 and r9 390 are roughly $390ish)

    Ty.

    No! Pick up an rx480 brand new before going that route. ($199-279)AIB prices will vary.

    Importing is no good wither as the exchange rate + shipping just put it back up to NZ store price levels.

    Even the gtx 9 series is still expensive.

    @primetime

    The Rx480 is going for around 480 - 550 in NZ (US$335 - 380)

    Theres only on on amazon (none on newegg, and ebay dont ship to NZ) and that cost US$250, so around 380 NZ thats excluding shipping.

    Same goes for all gpus bought from outside to NZ.

    Edit: Ah, you mean teh rx480..

    Just double the price of US then add around $40 for shipping. Xant find any AIB that are going for rrp, they've all been marked up by around $150 US dollars or so.

    2x580 sli is pretty darn good.

    Either try to find used 290, 280x, 290x, 780 or 780ti. These can be cheap maybe? 280x is quite a bit faster then 580 but slower then that sli set.

    6990 w/o xfire would be a way slower one.

    Dude, 6990 is dual chip card, so performance depends on CF-support. Moreover, AMD stopped support for 5000-6000 series. CF + unsupported card means troubles. Go into newer series.

    Still the same price as bought in NZ excluding shipping. Thanks though.

    @Ryu5uzaku
    1 of my 580s died a few months back. There is a 2nd hand asus ref card going for $160 ( 100 euros) though.

    That explains it. How are 2nd hand amd cards doing there? I know here the 7970/280x is going for 100-120€ or so. Should offer better performance then one 580 and in newer games be good bit faster since it is rather close to 780 in those.

    280x would be tad faster then the 7970. That 2nd hand could be a great choice for you.

    Don't do it TeraScale is dead. More so than Fermi.

    Second hand 290 might be good for you.

    I agree on the 290 if you can find one reasonable. A shame the RX 470s are not out yet. Not sure where they would be priced for you.

    I upgraded to my Rx 480 from a 280x and honestly, it's become clear what a great card the 280x was. It'll hold it's own with any game on the market today.

    All the test i was seeing showed a 35% or better (dx11) difference. But you sound underwhelmed? vulkan and dx12 is more like 45% increase. You must only play opengl or dx11 games?
