    Hey guys,

Thinking of upgrading from my current card to a 690, what are your thoughts?

I'm mainly worried about my PSU not being 'enough' :nerd:

If your PSU has a solid 700 watt you could run 2 690 in SLI...

    Thanks for the input guys.

I actually just bought a GTX690 a few hours ago - should arrive tomorrow morning

When the 700 series comes out ill get a 790 - no more holding back on GPUs for me I've decided :vader:

Anyhow do you guys reckon I should re-install windows before installing the 690?
Or will overwriting the old 580 driver and swapping for the 690 be ok?

No need to reinstall for gpu swap. just uninstall driver, do driver sweeper.

Hanging for a next gen card(s) myself, hope its very soon. I've not seen a shred of news regarding when they're coming.

I use Driver Fusion to remove drivers after a control panel uninstall. Its the new driver sweeper apparently. It works very well, is updated frequently and better than sweeper.

Make sure you have a decent exhaust fan in your case. The 690 cooling fan, blows heat both IN and out of your case.

By the way, does anyone here know if there is a 690 designed to exhaust all air out the back of the card? All that I've seen blow air in both directions. Anyone? Sorry to infringe on the OP.

The card is designed to blow dump air from the front and rear.
OP you will enjoy the card, its a great performer and great to look at.
I think if you are at 1920 1200 or slightly under its agreat card, Any higher resolution and you will want 2x670/680's with 4gb of ram per gpu.
