Just looking for a few opinions. I am using the smp client with -bigadv to fold on my 980x. I'm also running 2 gpu clients- gpu3 & gpu2 with an ati 5970 and a nvidia 9800gtx+. Would I be better off just running the smp client? Im currently running project 2684 @ 31 minutes a frame and my gpu clients are running at 2 min/frame. Below are my system specs.

    System:
    Intel i7 980x @ 4ghz watercooled
    Asus Rampage III Extreme mobo
    6gb GSkill 2000mhz ddr3
    Sapphire 5970 gpu (primary)
EVGA 9800gtx+ 512mb gpu (for physx)
Two 60gb Vertex 2 ssd in raid 0
    Windows 7 64 bit

I would advice you that you read this guide that I wrote. The last section is going to be very helpful in your case :)

Thanks, that guide is definitely helpful. I did some tests real quick and it doesn't seem like the gpu clients affect my smp to much. I increased my overclock to 4.4ghz and let it run for a few hours without the gpu clients and I only saw a slight increase in the framerate. It went from 31 minutes to 30. So I guess I'm better off running all 3 at once. I appreciate the help, thanks again!

When I run just the smp client I use -smp 11 and I get a tpf 28-30 for the -bigadv 26xx projects. Now that I'm running 3 GPU clients (2 gpus on 5970 and 1 gpu on the 9800gtx) I use -smp 10. I'm currently working on project 2684 with a tpf of 35.41 using -smp 10 and all 3 of my GPU clients are running.

That is an impressive TPF considering that your GPUs are ATI

Thanks! Thats probably the main reason I used -smp 10. I know ATI's have a pretty big impact on the smp TPF, so I just let them have the 2 extra cores. I'm really hoping the next client will let me take my system to the max. I would probably be getting a much higher PPD if it wasn't for the bottle necks in the current clients. But even with the bottle necks I'm not doing to bad.
