Sorry Jw_Leonhart, have to definitely disagree with that. A single 6800GT or Ultra can still outperform SLI 6600GTs, let alone a next generation card. If you're going to go SLI then I'd only use a 6800GT or Ultra, x2 6600GTs in SLI is pointless. And lighten up on Lavans you guys there's more to it than just benchmarks and figures, it's also about personal preference, otherwise everyone would have the same system.
Agree with you on that, it makes no sense getting 2x6600GTs. Much better to get one GT and ultra and leave the option for a second open.
Well, until the SLI setup gets more refined and better supported then so far the 2 6600GT's wont out perform most setups. But over time it should become more stable and quicker. But who knows how long that will take.
It's interesting that remark would come from another Intel user. I guess it is true, they stick together.
The game is going to have to support SLI to be able to benefit from the performance. Take a look at benchies that have SLI support, performance is double or close to. =) Edit: Also, I was not being a bully for the first page I believe until he started to argue with basically everyone who was trying to help. I'm here to try and help, not to be proven wrong on something that I know isn't true anyways.
You're kidding right? I have the luxury of having both an Intel and an AMD system, and I'm satisfied with either one.
Da...da..da..da..daaaa...I'm lovin' it!! Can we make this thread a sticky. Something like: A stern example of intolerance and ignorance in the digital community! In my opinion, Lavans just wanted to become member guru and needed another 20 posts. Arrgh, shoulda thought of this when I was starting. Anyway I had a great time with this comedy. I'm sorry for all you pros spendings so much time on decent answers, just hope this won't put you off for life. As my computer apps teacher said every day: Keep up the good work and don't forget to brush your teeth!
