    overrated? i am sorry but i have to disagree with that statement. have you even heard these things in use with a good sound card?

    I think these speakers are worth every penny.

    They are not considered high end speakers. If you can get them for a low price though...maybe they will work for you.

    I used to own the z-5500 and I was not impressed with them. Sure, they'll work if you're just looking for loud, boomy bass. Unfortunately, I find the mids too muddled and distorted due to having only one-way satellites.

    instead go with its newer sibling.
    bass and mids are well proportioned. unlike Z5500, which has too much of bass and mid.
    thnx to my soundcard, i've found the sweet spot! :)
