I have a Logitech Z-340 2.1 system that I've had for awhile now and a pin on the 9 pin Mini-DIN connector broke off (And it just happens to be the pin for the Left speaker.) I wanted to know if it was possible to just buy a 9pin Mini-DIN cable, cut off the old connector with the broken pin, and solder in the new connector. It's the top right pin (from left to right of the top row, its the 3rd one)
Here's a wiki. It's a standard connector, so it should be easy to find. Got an old Mega Drive 2? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mini-DIN_connector I'd just buy a new LS21 setup. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/s..._speakers/&cl=au,en&page=1&filter=3737&sort=0
I know what kind of connector it is =/ and no I don't have a Mega Drive 2. But I have a Z-5500, and these Z-340 so I really don't see the point in shelling out money for a new 2.1 system when all it needs is a $10 or so connector.
You could probably buy this cable, lop off the Mini-DIN end and affix it to the other cable like you said. My uncle use to be an electrician for Caterpillar and did things like that all the time, it should work out.
* Sega Mega Drive II / 32X * Acorn Archimedes mouse * Creative GigaWorks T40 (for Creative Docking Station X-30) * Logitech Z-340 Speakers * Logitech Z-3e Speakers * Nvidia and ATI Technologies Video In Video Out (VIVO) port connector for GeForce and Radeon video cards * Bus mouse * Dension Gateway * Vizualogic Car Screens * Freebox HD (SCART to Mini-Din 9 plus 2 RCA : red and white) All these things use the 9 pin. Still got the VIVO port cable? It comes with all ATI and Nvidia video cards. I looked in my second drawer, and there was the connector you need.
Yes I do still have a VIVO cable that I got from an X800, but it's sitting over 1000 miles away in my house in Florida, and right now I'm at my house in NJ. Sooooo....yeah. I guess I'll just order the cable from Newegg (didn't even think of Newegg, which is weird because I go there all the time). Thank you guys.
