I got myself a brand new pair of r9 290x and I'm having multiple issues with them

1st) the mouse cursor is huge. I done a few searches and it could be because Windows 8.1 is registering my 46' display and is compensating in some form. A registry edit may fix it. fixed, go to the thread "BIG mousecursor R9-290"

2nd) Bsod out the wazoo. Searched this too. For most people it only happens in games. It happens to me even on the desktop. I even got a red screen of death loading up tomb raider caused by NF200...Probably. Problem went away when cards were put in the x8 pcie lanes, the ones that don't use the NF200

3rd) sound is awful. Truly awful. Now it goes back to normal when I use a single card. But with 2 cards it sounds very stuttery. I'm using and xfi titanium hd Fixed by using 13.11 9.2

My motherboard is a Maximus IV Extreme Z and I'm using a 2600k oc'd to 4.6. My power supply is 1200W.
I was told power and bottlenecking wouldn't be an issue.

Any help would be much appreciated, I'm at a loss.

1st) check the big mouse r9-290 thread for the solution.
2nd) Red screen only occurred to me with old drivers

I went through that thread, it had a nice walkthrough at the end, followed it, still no solution.

I have gone through the scaling options, both in AMD and in Windows, the scaling options in the CCC only change the over/underscan, in windows, it seems to affect the pixel density of the cursor, not change its size.A

there may be something I missed, im afraid you have to talk to me like i'm a total n00b, sorry.

When was the last time you checked the stability of your PC as a whole?

Looking through your posts you went from a 6990 that you had many problems with to a pair of 290x and basically the same problems continue.

i bet your using hdmi ??
if so go back to dvi as it is a known bug with those cards at moment
as for bsod run all at stock speed to test more on a stock computer to take that side out of it..

So I think I got it stable. It appears to be a problem with the nf200 chip on my motherboard, which kicks in whenever an x16 lane is used for xfire. I put the cards in each x8 lane and the stability issues went away.

The 6990 was giving me issues but they were a different set of issues.
