The folks at Danger Den shipped out their most shiny nickel plated GTX 580 cooling block and we will put that to the test. We'll have a look at the product the installation temperatures before and after.We'll... More...
If you look at how it overclocks compared to the GTX480 last year, it's amazing how nVidia have managed with TSMC's 40 nm silicon to allow the DD block to get 10% higher clocks on a now fully functioning Fermi. And it's 10*C colder without Furmark lol.
I always wondered about the guru3d FC2 bench...is the 'high' settings a miscommunication, because it had 2 settings above that, very high and ultra high, so I can't imagine they would be the high setting.
great review mate.. my gtx580 and cpu all at stock runs cooler in same loop but thats is some nice oc
that is a very nice review! and the performance of the OC gpu is very good. now thinking it might be best to get dual 580's instead of single 590
Its definitely better to go for 2x580s than 1x590gtx,but im planning on 2x590gtx which is better than 2x580,depends really on how good the 590 is otherwise i may go for 2x580s myself.
Just a quick question, aren't MSI Kombuster, OCCT and Furmark(as recommended here) a bad way to test an OC because of the "limiter" build into the GTX580 and alike? Or am I totally wrong there?
i dont know mate,if i oc my gpu and it passes 3d mark vantage test then thats good enough for anygame at the oc you have chosen. I have not used the others, but Occt im familiar with for cpu testing, however i would not use it for gpu testing as i think vantage does a better job testing for game(s) application.
