Hi, I just recently got a new laptop and it has a 660m gtx for the video card. This card should play games like league of legends at 60 fps easily, but it limits itself to 31 fps for some reason, no matter the graphics settings. Any ideas on how to fix this?
hi, from my experience, its a client issue, high end (or decent video cards) would not go in full 3d clock, because of low gpu utilization from LoL, i fxed that by: 1.- enableling some form of antializing and anistropy settings from the nvidia control panel. or using nv inspector app, to modify other settings so i would force more gpu utilization workload 1a.- by doing this u too make the CPU work a little more so it wont go to its low voltage and mhz states ( eist etc) 2.- in windows power profiles select HIGH performance, just to be sure eist wont kick in while playing. ****************************************************** try some aa setting that can make the gpu work out but dont over do it by setting some ridicolus AA setting this is what i use for LoL nvidia profile setting (if u dont see it, add it, or just use inspector) 16csaa anistropy 16x text negative lod: clamp texture filt: quality high performance maximo prerender frames 3 single display performance mode power managemne: prefer maximun perf vertical sync FORCE ON this has gave me the best results, i u cant 16 AA then lower to 8x csaa tip: cover sample aa dont give health bars bugs, mutisample aa does. sorry for typos but i guess i made myself clear, enjoy.
I don't have the game but it might be like Dead space 2 where in game Vsync is 30 fps to give it the cinematic feel. If so turn off vsync in game and on in NVCP as that is 60fps
Console ports? I hope developers learn from such mistakes in the future. Limiting FPS using vsync is not the proper way, since it introduces mucho input lag.
Many games not originally developed for PC have a 30 fps limit. But most of the time you can disable it by tweaking a config file. Depends on the engine used. I have no idea for LoL sorry.
