I think I've finally found a Kernel and ROM that I can live with on the Nexus 4 that finally makes the phone work.

    I'm using:
    Kernel: Linaro franco.Kernel | r184
    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2307463

    ROM: PAC Nightly-20131001
    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2146879

I'm using a -125 offset for the 1512mhz CPU along with an ONDEMAND governor and ROW for the memory. GPU is using ONDEMAND as well at default clocks.

Still a few rough edges, but the phone finally doesn't go over ~45 degrees Celsius off charge and around 60 degrees Celsius on charge (previously it was 60 and 100 respectively).

Using this configuration, I just got 21,242 on the latest AnTuTu benchmark, putting it ahead of both the Note 2 and Nexus 10, and just a mere 4,000 points short of an HTC One.

I just wish that someone would fix these damn deadlocks.

    Few more benchmarks:

    Sunspider V1.01: 1,134 (stock N4 = 1,554) (lower is better)
    Google Octane V1: 2,127 (stock N4 = 1,684)
    VELLAMO HTML 5: 1,938 (stock = 1,340)
VELLAMO METAL: 599 (stock = 624) (the one oddity)
    3DMark Extreme: 7,158 (stock = 7,169) (no change)

DO NOT BUY A NEXUS 4 unless you wrap it in shock absorbing foam.

    WHY

Cos the touch sensitive membrane is built into the glass so if you crack the glass (easily done as its not toughened) then you will need to pay around £150 - £180 to LG for them to fix it.

I have mine sitting in front of me right now with only a minor crack and the screen it totally unresponsive.

I replaced the phone with a Motorola Moto G 16GB Black, does everything my Nexus 4 did but for half the price and has Gorilla Glass.

Ive got Nexus 4 and its been a awesome since i bought it. Or did you mean Nexus 5? Who quated you £150-180 by the way? My friend cracked his(it was still working btw) and he only payed £70 to replace the screen at Carphone warehouse i think.

Moto G is pretty nice, great device for such a price.

Was good while I had it, battery life not as good as the Motorola though, I looked all day online and apart from some dodgy looking kits from Ebay, the overwhelming majority of people had to pay the price mentioned depending on exactly needed replacing.

Il look at Carphone Warehouse and see what they say but I much prefer this Motorola. Btw mine only has a small crack but took a knock and the screen is unresponsive apart from where the number 4 is so cant even unlock it to wipe it.

Nexus 4 does have gorilla glass for the front screen btw, I've dropped mine loads over the year I've had it and it doesn't have a scratch on it.

Best phone I've owned by far and still feels fresh (the kit kat helped)

Best user experience is located in two places:

    1. Bed before sleep
    2. Toilet....before.....

Thats not true at all, I've had mine for a year and I've dropped it hundreds (not over estimating) And other than a couple dings in the bezel its pristine, I keep mine naked as well.

I've dropped my N4 dozens of times. Furthest drop was from just over 3ft and no damage to the phone at all. Worked flawlessly until I slipped on ice a couple weeks ago and landed on it. Still no physical damage to the exterior of the phone, but it randomly shuts off now. I just went and got an N5 to replace it about an hour ago because I finally got tired of it randomly turning off. Had zero issues at all until I landed on it.

As for the battery life, I've had no issues at all. I regularly get 2 days out of the battery with little issue.....sometimes longer. Since I landed on it, I've been getting upwards of 3 days. Probably due to it randomly shutting itself off without me knowing it.

If the phone was still available, I'd have bought a second one. Tried to get another off Ebay but those people are nuts with their prices.

Well after dropping it into the toilet i smashed it with my car's door. As i was closing the door it slipped out of my pocket. However screen is perfectly fine, glass on the back is shattered and its slightly bent now! But somehow screen doesnt even have a scratch! Might have to get nexus 5 soon!
