27GN950 with 27inch @ 4K panel gonna be really sharp and nice image. And dropping resolution down to 1440p, for more frames shouldn't affect image a lot. It should display as any 27inch 1440p panel.

I like it. Hopefully it's not too expensive.

"Gsync compatible" means has Freesync. However Nvidia doesn't allow them to put "Freesync" also next to "Gsync" spec.
This is pure anti-consumerist tactic from the side of Nvidia, yet people support this with their money instead of boycotting.

Like we (men) have done with Gillette, after the misandric campaigns at the start of the year, forcing the company losing billions in 2019. (Reported drop $8bn by August and expected $15bn by end of the year).

But ofc Nvidia is been transformed to religion and common sense is not existent.

Gsync compatible is not quite as good as a bonafide G-sync screen - no variable overdrive as one missing quality feature. They probably don't want to associate the brand of G-sync with a somewhat inferior experience, as well as diluting the brand with comparisons to Freesync.

What was misandric about the campaign from Gilette? A company stating that men should not be bullies, sexual harassers, or have behaviors that are branded until the category of toxic masculinity (which is, by the way, very clear as to which set of actions it constitutes if you read a bit and listen to other women) is now misandric? Also, don't talk for "we men". You don't represent men. No one does.

Regarding Nvidia's G-Sync Compatible branding, you have presented no evidence that Nvidia is disallowing manufacturers from stating FreeSync support next to G-Sync Compatible. If you're referring to AdoredTV, then don't bother trying.

Meh, G-SYNC Compatible means pass from me, prefer proper G-sync,

Il stick with my 1080p monitor for now till a more affordable 4k comes out, my rtx2080 can still struggle to push 1440p and give 60fps solid in some games when there maxed out.
So next monitor will be 4k as i can dumb some games down to 1080p and not get a blurry stretched image like i would get if i were to use a 1440p monitor and use 1080p resolution on it

Yeah i can just turn down settings in games to keep 1440p and 60fps but that just aint my thing, i like the eye candy

The 38" looks ok but they lost me at Adaptive-sync, G-sync is much better (after owning both). Also HDR 600 and not full 1000 didn't help.

HDR numbers mean nothing, truly nothing. IF there is no full array led local dimming or OLED tech behind, it is just useless brightness all over the place.

HDR600 is still better then no HDR in my opinion. Of course that FALD and at least 1000 nits is the "real" HDR. But going from pathetic 300nits panels to a Samsung CHG70 HDR600, in my case, was really a life changing event.

1080p looks like absolute crap on a 4k screen.

Also, don't buy LG monitors. Their quality and support are procreating terrible. I have an LG34GK950F and while the monitor itself is good, I've had to send it for repairs 2 times and it has just started with a different problem now. Their support is worthless.

Fair comment, and I think it should be aimed directly at the mid-tier gamer; definately in terms of price.

One should pay attention, the article uses the word "dramatically".
Well, try to spell it while holding your wallet ;)

lol, you like eye candy, yet are running mismatched resolutions that will introduce a more blurry image
    then if running native (1:1).
e.g. 1440p on a 1440p screen will look "sharper" than running 1440p on a 1080p screen (not talking about pixel size here).
i would rather get a 1440p screen and run all games natively.
haven't seen anything i cant do maxed out at that res (on 2080), incl siege (incl TAA x4) which runs more on the crappy side (code wise).

If I were Nvidia, I wouldn't advertise Freesync either. I don't see Hershey's putting a Mars logo on their chocolate bars. Anti-consumer sure has become a popular buzz word this year. Everyone has Google. Do some research and make informed decisions.

Will give these a miss. The OLED and Nanocell tv’s that are already out come with HDMI 2.1 sockets already which means you have enough bandwidth already for 4K 120hz and HDR.

They're TV's though. A 55" OLED TV isn't all that ideal for many.

They’re adding at 48” OLED to next years line-up. Hopefully we’ll see 43” and 32” versions eventually

Except nVidia is not manufacturer of those screens in question. They are "just" those who do not like logo used by AMD next to theirs.
