If you could post some pics of some of those that would be awsome.
Im not sure where the pack can be found on its own, but if you head to Good Ol Games, you can buy Redneck Rampage and all its add ons, with the Cuss Pack for like $5 or something. Best of all it works on XP and Vista! Check it out;
Awesome thread guys!
I don't have any of my old boxes, but I saw some in this thread that i had.
All the Papyrus NASCAR games, Command and Conquer series(all the red alerts, cc, tiberium sun and expansions), I started out gamin in 98 or 99 (23 now.) Used to play a game called TAW (Total Air War) it had like an FAA manual for the F-22, awesome game. I had all the NFS games, before underground and all that CRAP. I miss those big boxes. I remember going to my local fairgrounds for PC trade shows and rummaging through all the huge boxes trying to find a cheap price for a popular game. I remember buildin a celeron 667Mhz PC so i could play Red alert and Diablo/2
Nice story GuitarScott.....I wish that there was some where around here where I live that had a pc trade show....i have never been to one.....but that would just be a blast.....my son stills plays those old Command & Conquer games along, with Diablo 2.
I have Age of Empires and rise of rome boxes at home, all my N64 game boxes still aswell, possibly more, I'll have a look next time I'm back in 3 weeks.
Well, it's not the only one ever sold, I've got the same box laying around here somewhere... I remember it cost about 40 euro's back then, awesome box! I got another 3 cd jewelcase with it, only housing the 3 original C&C discs for Dos I think, awesome!
Icewind Dale Heart Of Winter....Still Wrapped....I need to get busy and play this!
I still have Airfix...what an awesome game, i just wish it had proper gamepad support. I can't play it on my 360 gamepad but on others i would map it to keboard. It even had a pretty decent level editor that was easy to use.
Another game Airfix reminds me of is Revolt. but i can't get it to play anymore, not vista or W7.
They need a Windows 95/98 emulator just for classic games cause compatability mode is a joke.
Darn...I only started PC gaming in 2007. I was 12 at that time.
I wish I had Icewind Dale. If it were on Steam I would get it, but that just doesn't seem right. If I did get it, it would have to be in a good condition box.
thief for the win
here two of my favs that i still have boxes for.
Nice, I've never seen Thief 1 or 2 in a square big box. They were released in triangle boxes in the US.
yhea ive had thief 1 box for 12 years lol and the other one since 2000. i Still play thief fan missions alot.
since i have some time waiting for my toys to warm up...dunno how I got the idea that it was Nascar 3 that I played...it was #2:
here's a classic...Populous...the first "god game"
uhmm Daggerfall...maybe the buggiest game ever lol
not a big box but it's the same size...special edition Falcon 4.0 manual
they don't make 'em like that anymore...
I have a few of the really old lego games in big boxes aswell.
Thief....man talk about a great series...I too have never seen them in big boxes....I also only thought they were in triangle boxes......very nice.
Makalu.....that Falcon 4.0 manual looks like a damn catalog
I loved every one of the Daggerfall boxes shown so far.
I also like the inside of the Nascar 2 box showing all of the components of the car....all were adjustable also and effected how the car handled.
I remember finding a site online ....maybe at the racing groove....that had what to do to fix your car for instance if it was tight in the middle of a corner.......they were probly 6 or 7 different things you could do....and they may effect the car in other ways.......I printed the WHOLE thing out and put it in a spiral ring binder ......it is awsome and I still have it and use it today.
It was written by Rodney Arndt.
Falcon 4.0 = awesomeness!!
I took some pics of some of my older boxes (my wife's camera, so I don't know anything about the settings)...
And say what you want about the game, but the boxart is fantastic.
And big collection boxes...
