Slide shows a 580 compared with the 780 suggesting that "Kepler" performance increase to be almost double? Does the renaming justify the performance it provides or is this to match up with AMD's upcoming 7k series :D again these are rumors so you be the judge.

Leaked/Confidential/NDA... All these slides I would take with a grain of salt until they're confirmed and most of the time its all hype/marketing so don't base any opinions yet on the actual performance. Remember the AMD "NDA" pic [here] yeah same rules apply :p, though it would spell trouble for AMD if these were true.

Some trouble yes, but not much.
If AMD's "leaked" slides are also something to be believed, then all Nvidia's 7xx series in this "leaked" slide would only level the playing field, probably at best.
Keep in mind that AMD's 6xxx and Nvidia's 5xx (aside from VRAM, power consumption, and price) perform almost the same.

Anything "leaked" by manufacturers/chip designers/etc should be taken with a grain of salt. Remember, their goal is to sell you their latest products.

This is the sort of performance increase that would make me jump ship.

I'm sure the slides are fake but a 80-100% increase in power between generations equivalent card is standard.

gtx280 to gtx480 was an 80-100% increase in performance for me.

Well... I'm expecting about 2x increase. That has been a norm for NVIDIA for every major generation.

Isn't that the slide that was floating around a few days ago? I think the 'Metro: Light Night Beta' puts serious doubt on it's credibility. I would also think it's a little too early for any kind of performance figures.

    Skip 6-series and go with 7 ?
Like skip 3-series and go with 4 ?

Might just be naming. That Last Night is a good one :)

Yeah, this is like standard and not surprising at all.

Hopefully they found ways to work down the power usage though with arch enhancements + added other cool stuff

Exactly....but if previous "leaked" info is accurate....the successor to GTX580 isn't expected to launch for roughly a year still.

But why "leak" such information roughly a year before the graphics card is expected to launch (based on previous "leaked" info)"

Seems at least some of this "leaked info" is just blatantly wrong..... Either nVidia is doing their usual "top to bottom" launch....or these "performance slides" are a wrong. If nVidia has these cards ready for performance comparisons, why would they wait so long to finally release them? If they truly plan to follow the previously "leaked" roadmap....why would they be showing performance comparisons so far in advance? I mean, c'mon....how many are going to look at these slides and say "Well....they'll perform better than GTX580, so I'm going to hold off for another YEAR so I can grab up one of these"...?? Especially after HD7K launches. Unless you're a brainless nVidia zombie, most are going to jump on the best performing card they can get.
