kt7a raid hd on same or differnt ide ??

    evga 6800 u 425/1100 stock
    im gonna install a kt7a raid and i have 2 hd a 24 gig 7200 rpm and a 20 gig 5400. when i install them do i put them on there own ide both as master, or like right now one as the master and the other a slave. will this have any effect on performance? .also ill have a cdrom and cdrw sharing the same ide. thanks

    Ah, the sweet spot.
    Yes, yes, and Yes. You'll put both HD's on the RAID as masters (on separate channels, of course) and put the CDROM and CD-RW on the regular IDE channels (CD-RW should be master). And you can mix HD's on the RAID but, for top performance it is recommended that you use identical drives (i.e., both 7200, both ATA100, etc).<P>BM
