This thread is just about my experience with triple SLI a good way for me to keep track of my custom bits and a bit of info about SLI. I have been running SLI systems for over 10 years now and I have had great success over the years.

So far triple SLI is it worth it? Yes, most games give about 210-290% scaling. So I at least double my fps worst case scenario but there is usually a minor grievance with flickering in menus and such.

    Other SLI info threads
    Amdbugbears 4way sli thread

    My system
    R5E with 5960x @4.62ghz 1.25v
    32gb Kingston ram @2800mhz
    Quad 980ti
All on water cooling, I even milled up a waterblock for the CPU VRM it's a very nice setup despite this the water temps still climb over 50c! With 2x 240x60mm and 1x 120x60mm rads in push/pull config.

    160% scaling = +60% fps. 200% scaling = 2x fps etc.

Kozary's Custom Profiles Triple SLI 4k100fps by engine:

    Unreal engine
Code Vein - good scaling ~250%
ABZU - sli works ok in 3 way - stability issues - custom profile not finished
Rocket league (QHD) DX11 - 850fps+ - no artifacts (lost profile)
Shattered: Tale of the Forgotten King - 275% tri-sli scaling, Quad SLI approved
Remnant: From the Ashes - No anomalies/flickering, scales very well, no stability issues, Quad SLI approved

    Unity Engine
Escape from tarkov - 250%-280% very good scaling - flicker in menu and bullet holes in face shield
amid evil (5k) - effects medium, taa off. works good
dusk - what is a GPU, effective load split - (just play it on a single gpu)
Risk of Rain 2 - No anomalies, scales good, cpu limited
Genshin Impact(5k) - Perfect scaling, minor to moderate anomalies, Quad SLI approved
Valheim - 250-285% scaling, minimal anomalies. Possibly CPU bound.
Ori WIll of the Wisps - 340% scaling, Quad SLI friendly

    Other Engines
Shadow warrior 2 - perfect scaling - no artifacts
Vermintide 2 - seems to work well stock but scaling drag in some levels, custom profile makes minor flicker in distance but great scaling in 5k
Monster hunter world - 160% scaling - no artifacts(2way) - custom profile - 3way offers 220% scaling but issues with meowlotov cocktail otherwise perfect

    Games with issues
Final fantasy 15 - scales perfect no artifacts then suddenly it just sh!ts the bed and goes back to single gpu don't think I can fix it tbh there is NO consistency at all. This may be a 2way game only but I have seen others having no issues with 4 GPUs so I am not sure whats going on with it lots and lots of tuning done with no success fix one thing break another. Very annoying.

    Games I have tested
CSGO (QHD) - same fps as 2way (cpu bound) - no artifacts - default profile
Crysis 3 - very good - default profile
Hellpoint - very good - amdbugbear profile
Bioshock (5k) dx10 - very very good scaling - no artifacts - default profile dx9 scales a little less but HBAO is sexy
Killing Floor 2 - works stock great scaling- game code is trash though and towards end game I end up with 30fps regardless of single or triple gpu.
Kings of lorn - very good - amdbugbear profile
Destiny 2 - scales but meh not even 200% with default profile ~75% gpu usage
Divinity original sin enhanced edition - Excellent scaling in quad sli, game is limited to 4k
    Dark souls 2 - Excellent
Dark souls 3 - Perfect in quad SLI default profile.
The Witcher 3 - Perfect, 320% scaling Quad SLI.

    Cheers for reading.

    FAQ

    SLI hack/broadcast not in nvidiainspector?
Update your Nvidia Inspector to the latest version from Github. Do not use DMW for my profiles.

Cant' find my SLI bits in premade profiles?
Key them in manually or copy and paste they are custom made not Nvidia's.

    Bits are not working?
Follow all game settings not just bits make sure you're actually fullscreen this is not a default option in most games. Do not use drivers older then the 436.xx branch for my profiles. I have tested up to 450.xx and it worked fine in 3/4way for me but rolled back to 436.

    SLI Broadcast - 0x0000100A
    Compatibility - 0x000020F5
    SLI Hack - 0x00010000

Scaling is very good i am able to maintain 150fps in qhd or near 100fps in 4k. From a still test 36fps to 94fps and this seemed reasonably consistent throughout but I have since quit the game due to wipe.

The setting Object LOD Quality directly effects scaling. I recommend setting this to lowest as it does not really make the game look any better/worse.
I have not tested fxaa or taa as they are absolutely Fing terrible in EFT cant see past 10meters with that blurry crap on
I have not tested SSR much but it seems to work just fine

This game is super hard to test and tune for because the loading times are horrendous and if it crashes it takes way to long to close like 5-10mins per run the game code is just a joke in that regard. I will not be dialing in the scaling any further as its already great.

Escape from Tarkov? I have seen this game in the past, I remember you told me to look into it a while back ago on my 4-Way Sli Thread.

I hope my 4-Way Sli thread helped out a bit for those who are still interested in SLI in general.

    From My Own Personal Experience:

Sli Broadcast (DX1x) Bits, These are the ones that will help me during my tuning:

0x0, 0x000000, 0x0000000, & 0x00000000, the ones in-between, from my own personal experiences, cause I have literally went through every crook and nanny within nvidia inspector, they don't offer much, if you see any difference in 4k, depending on game, you might see only .5 fps or 1 fps increase in performance, even then, don't even bet on it.

Same Games for Sli Specific (DX1x) Hacks:

Again, the ones that really helped me is:

    0x, 0x00<<~~ In some cases this hex here, 0x000000, 0x0000000, & 0x00000000

If your 110% committed to tuning and nothing but tuning, its gonna take a bit to get the hang of nvidia inspector tuning, I learned everything on my own with absolutely no reference look up whatsoever.

Learning what each particular hex do within a specific bits, what its does, its reaction within the game and or game settings in general, its implications, etc, etc, if everything done on your own, its gonna take quite some time, that's how I did it.

4-Way Sli is on another Beast level, all to its own, I really wanted the challenge and almost 2 years later of doing this, can clearly see why no one in the entire world is going to touch it, its just so much you have to deal with, it is the absolute dark side of pc gaming in general, if you all don't believe me, try it for yourself and do all the tuning on your own with no reference look up whatsoever, It will absolutely terrify the living day lights out of even the most demanding hard core tuners, It will drive you into the abyss, it is absolutely horrific on what stuff you have to encounter and how to fix it or how to bypass it, Absolutely Terrifying in general, depending on the game your working on and its situation.

One of the Worst I ever worked on is Phoenix Point, its is worst then nightmare itself.

Yes, there is alot more pros then con on my side, hell, just to get a single game to even scale decently under 4-Way in general, deserves alot of admiration, but getting a game to scale 100% perfect, that is utter speechless, and like before, Out of all the games I personally tuned, More Pros then Cons, even to this day, I am very surprised to see the outcome, all depends on how serious your are into this, if all commitment and passion is put into it, Great results will come out of it, again, it all depends how serious your are into this.

Hell, it took me 140+Hrs of total time for Mortal Shell, and that's with Almost 2 years of doing this, pretty much every day tuning and nothing but tuning, no playing games were allowed on my side, unless I am testing a specific area or moving into another zone, My tuning is very very strict.

Thanks Kozary for leaving some comments on my thread. Have you been reading up to date stats on my new project? RE3 Remake?

Your thread is the backbone of SLI right now no contest I have left a reference to your thread in mine as its very valuable info.

I check your thread while i'm drinking my morning coffee actually it is very interesting. While I don't get a chance to test/play all the same games you do. I do take notes on your testing they are very helpful esp for unreal engine in specific i have been reading about your Edge of Eternity and i ran into very similar issues in Genshin Impact.

I already made history in Sli in general.

Sli, to me, is being re-born, it ain't dead yet, Longs I am still doing this, Sli will never be gone, I can all promise you that.

There is other people who does 4-Way Sli, Like ThirtyIR and such.

But, to my knowledge, taking 4-Way Sli to this kind of a level, I am pretty much the only one, again, to my knowledge, there might be extremely few who is very serious in tuning 4-way, but again, to my knowledge, taking to this kind of extreme level, pretty much I am the only one.

In regards about tuning on your Side with your 3-Way Sli 980ti's, depending on the game, you might have to increase your resolution quite a bit over 4k, or its settings to utilize the Gpu's more.

Also, if your interested Kozary, leave a list of games you want me to specifically to look up, I'll personally look it up on my own time, that goes for anyone in general, if anyone has a game that you want me to look into, don't hesitate, you can ask per request, I'll look it up.

One more last thing Kozary, I already mentioned this in the past on my thread:

Lets just say I was not doing 4-Way Sli then, If I was viewing a PC thread, and happen to come across a thread such as mine, nothing in PC in general will interest me more then someone doing a 4-Way Sli Project, and taking it the Extreme Level and absolutely really put 110% dedication to it and put all the focus in the world into it, that will personally interest me more then anything in PC forums in general, even if its next's year gpu's, nope, this will interest me so much more then anything else, you can show me the newest Gpu's and still would not overcome it, not even close.

I have a few in mind one being Monster Hunter World as i cant get the bugger to work in 3way without green flashing and when i did fix that i found it still had some issues. I have extensive notes that may be/may not be useful as what bits i have dialed in and noted useful ones.
An easy one for you to tune would be Code Vein (unreal engine) i'll be posting my progress on that soon but it's a combination of some of your unreal engine tuning tips and it works just fine as 4k100fps is my goals.
Lastly Final Fantasy 15 I have spent a lot of time messing around with it and cannot get it to work right scaling drag with no recovery at seemingly random spots, i can also supply my save file with different locations that i noted to trigger it if you are interested. Every time i fixed one area another area had the issue when it did not before etc. This may be a system specific issue.

Of course only if you are interested. Thanks.

    Playing in 5k.

The main anomalies are menu flicker in 3way, texture minor flicker in rain. The new dragonspire area has minor flickering on snow particles.Water flickers the usual unity one, the usual hack that scales unity games fixes this but kills scaling.

Quad SLI + reshade in 2880p in this game looks amazing.

    Current Bits:

    Compat - 0x0C00E0F5
SLI Copy Engine - 0x00000010 ENABLE_CE_UPLOADS Enable - Copy Engine Async Uploads

Shadows needs to be set on low, AA off and its all good to go what reshade has to offer is much superior to the ingame options.

If your getting a bad neon flashing effect then just ctrl + alt + del or alt tab cancel and resume the game.

Using the usual hacks and after exploring the broadcast bits fixing the final bits of light weather flickering and water flicker is not possible without hurting the frame rate. Not willing to spend bulk hours when it is already very good.

This game is given up on because it works 90% perfect for me.

What is your Sli Broadcast (DX1x) Bits???

The Broadcast bits in general plays a HUGE role in controlling alot of graphic anomalies and among other things, absolutely yes.

What is your fps with 1 gpu to 3-way?

Just A Tip On Sli Broadcast (DX1x) Bits:

0x00000<<~~ If this hex is set to digit 3, it usually have great graphic anomaly control but at the same time, reduced scaling, all depends on the game and alot of it have also to do how his this hex is set too:

0x00000000<<~~ I would start with Digit 9 first, 5 then Letter A, check out how the graphic anomaly control then.

    From my personal experience:

0x00000<<~~ This hex here, if set to Letter: C, it provides the very best scaling performance but again, in turn, might see graphic anomalies.

Also, again, I also Developed a Technique back then, RE2 Remake/Bright Memory Resume technique, which also drastically stabilize/neutralize tons of graphical anomalies while loading up the game, using this Method in RE3 Remake now but in another fashion as that game, changing the resolution or windows mode = over 90% crash rate(Even on 1 gpu mode).

    No point of using TAA???

A game using TAA @ 1600p, The IQ(Image Quality), will far surpass 4k(2400p) using SMAA, alot less shimmering on fences, steps, etc, just in general speaking.

So saying no point of using TAA = X. I always strive to make use of TAA, even though it could be tough as hell, depending on the game, I always try to make make good use of it.

TAA is the only option here? Very interesting, usually, SMAA on my side = absolutely no problems, its the TAA in general, yes they do work among some games I have tested but requires tons of tuning to get them to work properly along with stabilizing the graphic anomalies.

Question about your Sli Compatibility (DX10+DX11) Bits:

    Ever tried setting:

    0x000000<<~~ Setting it to either: 1, 5, 7, 8 or 9??? I see you have set to digit 0.

Some games won't make that much of a difference, some games like: Hellpoint(Unity Engine) Made a HUGE stinkin' difference in 4-Way Scaling, especially in areas/spots I had weak scaling at that time.

Again, if your interested, Please let me know what games you personally want me to look into, but first: RE3 Remake is having my 110% undivided Attn. at this point, and its coming along Nicely for the most part.

Far as Sli Specific (DX1x) Hacks:

0x0<<~~ Usually digit 8,9 and the Letter A, B, C, D, E Will work, depending on game, it is required for scaling to be kicked in.

So I would start with 8 then test game in general and go from there.

Broadcast i have tested a fair few different ones and they either have no effect, give 1 gpu scaling or crash the game and yes i have tried tweaking in your unity based ones with no success. However I have not spent a lot of time on this aspect yet.
I go from 24fps to 60fps (limit) in a static test this also seems consistent when certain effects are present on screen. Also in a moving test in nighttime liyue i found about the same but have no numbers i just seen 3way kicking in real good.

SMAA in this game may be a combination of TAA or something entirely different. As yes SMAA by its self should have zero issues.

Question, ever tried going anything higher then 5k? Custom DSR Hack with Genshin Impact? To see if the 3-Way is better utilized, since the game is 60 fps cap.

I know using DSR with 4-Way, anything above native resolution = massive flashing and I can not get rid of it, the only way around this issue under 4-Way Sli is to use custom resolution, My max custom resolution is: 4434x2771, and I MUST use a hard bridge 4-Way Sli connector, I tried the flexible ones along with other 3rd party ones = Do not work, Hard Connectors, I use Asus, WS Rev 1.00 connector, works perfect.

Kozary, another heads up, you might be very much interested in this tool:

    customDSRtool:

    Link:

    https://www.forum-3dcenter.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=593534

Same Person who brought us: Nvidia's Best Friend: Nvidia Inspector(By: Orbmu2k), brought us this Custom Dsr Tool.

There is other ways to do it, I had a pre-made custom dsr hack through registry I made awhile back for my last 2 1080ti's, had resolution for 4k, 5k, 6k, and even 8k(4800p).

Also, two links that you might be interested in, that goes for everyone who's viewing this:

    Link #1:

    https://web.archive.org/web/2017043...ratios-and-resolutions-via-dsr-nvidia-only/p1

    Link #2:

    Link #3:

    https://web.archive.org/web/20170514210153/http://www.jim2point0.com/tools/dsr_hex/

Same method I used on my last 2 1080ti's, was from the above method, again, at that time, it worked excellent.

I tried using it on my current working system, does not work for some reason, only thing that works now on my current system is the customDSRtool from: Orbmu2k

I will give it a go for sure in my next update. But i tried a lot of tuning and not a lot has any impact at all with this game like literally nothing changes at all. It's weird.

What game is this again? Genshin Impact?

If so, that uses unity engine, I have experience in tuning unity engine based games:

    Worked on:

    Ghost of a Tale
    Phoenix Point
    Battletech
    Hellpoint
    Edge of Eternity

Question about this game, Can you do resolution higher then 1080p on the PC version? From what I understand, you cant, only thing is to adjust that resolution Scale Slider.

Another question, can you change your graphic settings while you play? EOE and Hellpoint does not have this future, stuff like this can drastically help graphic anomaly issues, depending on what situation though.

Again, list me games you personally want me to look into for my future projects, I'll gladly look into them.

I got many other games that I have ready to go in future projects, I will be extremely busy.

Yes, Genshin. I can use fullscreen mode to get DSR to 5k but i will go beyond with your dsr tweaks and yeah you can change settings while you play. my main issue is shadows flicker at nighttime. My guess is they are dynamic shadows.

Question, what drivers are you using and what windows 10x64 build your using?

Also, I hate to ask, but on that game, if you operate in windows mode or borderless mode while playing under 3-way, does it hang completely? Any Bsod's??? There is a reason why I am asking, if not, I have a solution that may help without missing with the broadcast bits.

Also, Kinda off topic but still in relation on what we are doing...

I am going to be picking up Venturi's(one of our members here on Guru3d.com), 2 Titan Xp's(he sold the others), and 4 Titan X's(Maxwell version).

I already have 4 980ti's in my folding/boinc rig, I do understand that the Titan X(Maxwell) has basically same performance as the 980ti counterpart but double the Vram(12gb).

I am getting it because of what I am doing. These will be my future projects, Way Way Way In the future.

Next 4-Way Sli project is 4 980ti's, Then afterwards:

    4 Titan X's(Maxwell)

    4 Titan Xp's(Pascal)

Then god knows what after wards.

After everything is complete, I will provide a complete Graph Analysis on every 4-Way Sli Gpu's that I worked on and the game and its scaling performance, Next, I will compare results, for example:

    ROTR @ 4k(2400p), SSAx2 or SSax4

    4 GTX 970's = xx fps

    4 GTX 980ti's = xx fps

4 GTX Titan X's(Maxwell Based) = xx fps

4 GTX Titan Xp's(Pascal Based) = xx fps

Yes, there is way's to operate 4 Pascal, Venturi even knows how, no need to get that nvidia key to unlock.

Here's a very very very very interesting link for those who's into Sli, despite being old, its still actively going. Venturi Also told me about this workaround and it does infact work, me myself, I have not, here's the link:

    https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/sli-with-different-cards.158907/

You can even bypass the Sli Bridge Connector all together, Mix different cards entirely, even with different vram count, its on the above link.

Everything will be logged and carefully checked, again, this is something I always wanted to do, so its going to be a very long time.

Going to be using pretty much the same games that I have previously tuned.

Going to start from the lowest rank to the top tier(Going to be a Very long time, and I am in no rush at all).

My 4-Way Sli Experience thus far on what you all see currently is dog and pony show(Only the beginning), My commitment is growing every single day while doing this, I am pretty much on it daily, sometime, long hours are involved, Like I said, I really don't play any games once I am tuning, only time I really play is testing for stability, checking for crashes, bugs, glitches, hangs or whatnot, scaling performance or venturing to another area so I can test that area, other then that, I don't play games, I mean I am but while I am testing, yes but in the end, you will not have the time do so if your absolutely 110% committed to doing this, you will have 0 time.

I might jump on a game or two for a bit but rare.

Cant wait for your future projects they will be crazy.

    win10 1909 build 18363.1256

No the game does not hang or crash when changing from windows to fullscreen even that's a crash I rarely get in 3way. In fact I don't think any games do so except vermintide 2 if I do it to many times.

I have a second system with 2way SLI and my custom bits rarely work in it or they just hard crash games unless i make slight alterations. It is windows 7

Cheers for your posts. I have been busy lately and not even loaded a game lately, Christmas really is the busy time of year.

What graphic drivers are you using?

Very interesting, so win 10 x64 RS5, tri-sli works in general? Very good to hear.

So going into window's mode does not effect anything in Genshin Impact???

Very good to know, if that's the case, have you personally tried my RE2/Bright Memory resume technique to see if it can help clear up the misc. Graphic anomalies?

Question, do you own Death Stranding by any chance? If you do, got a very big favor to ask, thanks.

Right now im using a bare bones 445.75. Also using the RE2 resume technique on genshin does help to settle the initial neon anomalies but does not help with the rain or shadows. I have done some further tuning and it seems anything that fixes the flickering shadows also hurts the scaling and frame times(microstutter).

I can get death stranding i just gotta make a little space to install it.
