Right at this point I will completely stop watching ANY KCD videos because as you said, the risk of spoilers is just too high. I'll watch them again after I'm done with my first playtrough.

Steam is acting kind of weird. I pre-loaded the game, yet the pre-load button is still there and if I click it it says that the game is not yet released, if I go to install folder it shows up as empty (0 bytes). Is this normal?

Finished downloading it, now to see how it works but from what I've heard it's certainly demanding if you push the settings but it's also quite customizable so should scale pretty well. :D

Just watched a you tube review and it seems there are just to many bugs at the moment including performance issues. I feared this would be the case. Characters with no heads , horses in the air ect..... I,m sure they will sort it out in time but this review recommended waiting for a deep sale on pc. Pc gamer guy had drops to 20 fps on a 1080 At 1080p.

I wouldn't concern that much with the performance.
AMD Drivers changelog did a massive spoiler on game's performance..

    • Testing conducted by AMD Performance Labs as of February 9th, 2017 on the 8GB Radeon RX 580, on a test system comprising of Intel i7 7700X CPU (4.2 GHz), 16GB DDR4-3000 Mhz system memory, and Windows 10 x64. PC manufacturers may vary configurations, yielding different results. With the Ultra High preset playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance, at 1920x1080, the Radeon RX 580 scored 55.9 FPS with Radeon Software 18.2.2 whereas the Radeon RX 580 scored 53.5 FPS with Radeon Software 18.2.1. Comparing FPS software versions, Radeon Software 18.2.2 has 4% faster performance in Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Performance may vary based on use of latest drivers. RS-211
@darrensimmons Are you sure you haven't seen a video from the beta and without the day 1 patch?
The day one patch contains fixes from >2 months from now, and it is more than 23GB, they even claimed it changes a lot of the game.

This was ACG "BUY/RENT/WAIT FOR SALE" and he states he is running the latest patch. Some areas are fine but those drops are very jarring. Benchmarks are never accurate, real gameplay is needed to fully stress the game and give true figures imo.

The presets also don't affect view distance which are handled by three separate sliders.

Framerate's around 20 here but that's 2560x1440 and some tweaks to see how far I can push the game mostly for screenshots and such. Without those and perhaps dropping down view distance I might be able to hit low 30's though hitting 60 FPS at 2560x1440 and maxed settings is going to take some serious hardware and Cry-Engine scales pretty heavily with display resolution so a 1080Ti isn't enough for 3840x2160 though the view distance sliders should even it out a bit since the newer Cry-Engine builds have a much higher set of values for these. :)

The moderator over on steam forums is creating a bit of a bad smell as he keeps deleting the ACG review which shows the bad optimization. Never a good sign. I've backed the game from very early stage but haven't had time to try it yet but the frame pacing issues are really going to ruin the experience for me I think I'll wait a while.

@darrensimmons Did they use the latest version, I mean...
GameGPU just end up testing the game and they got this, as far as I'm concerned they never failed on me with the results, dispite I always take them with a little bit of grain of salt.

    Take a look

Full perforamance review (you might want to use google translator):
    http://gamegpu.com/action-/-fps-/-tps/kingdom-come-deliverance-test-gpu-cpu

I'm saying this because both AMD and now gameGPU display good performance overall on their results, I'm also watching a guy with a 1050TI with the latest patch and drivers having around 30FPS with high settings, the game seems to not use much CPU as well as Vram.
AMD seems to have the upper hand in this game which is usually the case with Cryengine games that makes use of the GPGPU for day/night cycles in Cryengine.

EDIT: But he also noticed some micro-stuttering while turning the camera, so this might be the same problem it happens with the consoles.

Frame pacing is being a real problem for the console version, something is bottlenecking things which I'm thinking is probably related to the constant streaming and thus loading and unloading of resources since it can be observed by rotating the camera in a 360 degree and have objects out of view being removed and loading in depending on if they're in view or not. :)

EDIT: For PC? Well as long as you don't completely tank the GPU hardware it seems to scale well, mix of high and v.high settings should keep the framerate at a pretty acceptable level though a village is different from the countryside and then there's forests and other terrain too.

Cry Engine V and getting DX12 or Vulkan API support might help with some of the bottleneck issues too but that's going to be a serious amount of work and using the API's proficiently requires knowledge on how they work as well.

Still, compared to the beta it's not too bad unless you're overloading the GPU of course at which point it can't keep up at all and you get frequent framerate drops, stuttering and slow loading as it takes longer for resources to load and unload. :)
(Beta might look a bit better in some areas but it wasn't optimized much if at all so it's single digit framerate unless you have the hardware to just brutforce it.)

EDIT: The game bugs and glitches are a problem however, limited saving capabilities isn't doing any favors either so another patch or two couldn't hurt.

Yes, latest version. Don't understand this, I'm just reporting what I am reading all over the internet. As I said, Not had time to try it yet but many are finding it unplayable and reporting the complete opposite to this chart. Would really need to know what part of the game they used as benchmark? Anyone here had time to try it yet with a 1080ti or similar? There is a guy over on steam claiming to be running a silky smooth 60fps on Ultra but no proof.

@darrensimmons yes, it's on the article, they have tested in the middle of the village.
I'm not attacking you here, it's just this game is annoying the way it got distributed.
Many people even today are releasing videos of the beta version from 2 years ago, others released videos without day one patch and already procceded to review them, like ESO first game which was released without the update yet.
So things are all over the place, and I think it is making more damage than good.

Also the guy with the GTX 1050TI after all have a high CPU usage.
    With a R3 1200 @ 3.9GHZ and he gets CPU Bottlenecked at 50-70FPS.
And with 40FPS he gets 70% Cpu Usage..
    Dayyyummm! XD

I agree with you totally :) I, like you, have been waiting for this game for a long time and in the past I have trusted the ACG guy as I think many have which is why I was a little concerned when I watched his review this morning. I will be doing my own testing tonight and will report back.

@darrensimmons I'm almost 100% sure the game must have problems, since this 23GB patch says it all, they must still have a ton of stuff to fix yet.

The framerate is certainly not great in the Xbox One X version I've been playing, which I believe runs at 2560x1440/1440p (the PS4 Pro version runs at just 1080p apparently). There is very noticeable judder when turning, LOD issues/draw in are very obvious (hair and hats on NPCs can easily be seen "popping" into view for example) and the game never comes close to hitting a locked 30 fps outdoors (indoors it runs smoother, when the door is closed, but that is to be expected).

I suspect that the budget for this game hasn't allowed for proper optimisation so if you are sensitive to framerate variance then it is perhaps better to wait until the game has been patched a few times on both consoles and PC.

I get 60 FPS with everything maxed @ 1440P but it is not consistent - I have not seen any terrible drops but it has dipped below 50 more than a few times.

Obviously, 4K is not happening with one GPU unless I start turning down details and that is a 'no sale' where I am concerned so I think I will hold out for Nvidia's inevitable 'game ready' driver that will no doubt provide 'the best experience for Kingdom Come: Deliverance' /barf and hopefully, the supposed SLI support we were told the game was going to have.

But I'm not going to hold my breath ;)
