I'm just having a good discussion here and immediately I'm what, a pc fanboy? I have nothing against killzone being a ps3 exclusive, you know.

I do agree with VultureX. Though I'm not worried about high resolutions, doesn't mean that everyone else has to be worried about it. I won't say anything about people who do want high resolution visuals, because it's not my place to.

They are saying now(lots of devs) the spe's are great(check the keynote and what the guys from Far cry 2 had to say)

Killzone 2 only use 4 1/2.

Only 6 are used total. The other 2 are for os and system.

I think there's 7. 1 for the OS. The 8th one hard to get yields on, they probably put it in other servers or something. All the batches with 7 cores go into the PS3 to cut costs.

But in some games it can be of great help. I remember playing NFSMW on PC at 1600x1200, so detailed, you could see the police driving around a corner from miles... A few days later I saw it on the ps2, well, that was bad... I couldn't see much in the distance just because there were too little pixels to show some detail... And in split-screen mode you just couldn't see a thing...

of course the difference between 1600x1200 and ps2 resolution is greater than the difference between 720p and 1080p and that's why I agree with you.

Can be used, that's right Developers have to learn... As of now it's a waste of power. And the 8 to 1 estimation -which was a bit to high, should've been 4 or 5 to 1 - wasn't based on the amount of CPU cores Do you know it took 2 generations of videocards to outperform the cell in folding?
Btw, this thing gets *really* hot! Create some more airflow and you have a hair dryer!

That's true, in fact I think the best games also on PC platform don't have the best graphics.
