true I did not care about any of that stuff when I got my 580`s. they are going to sell like hotcakes:nerd:
$#@^& yellow mega man <-- too many need to chip in I want one too, so the smaller, the better! http://forum.beyond3d.com/showpost.php?p=1624267&postcount=1999
Am I one of the few that only have 1 monitor and could care less about newer cards until they actually start makeing games that require more than a 8800gt to play ?
you're forgetting that developers can't make push for such games, not while 8800GT-HD5770 are median cards
holy $#& EVGA GTX 480 for $219 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130759 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicat...ffiliateID=Es5Ekr9eEBk-CznoCROF3pb4YDEaGu1EQA
At this point in time it is the AMD 7970 that has proven to be unbeatable. What are those words Iam looking for? Oh yeah, TALK IS CHEAP.
wow that's a ugly design.. And i see its using the same cheap pwm, ok at least its 5+2 Is this even legit?
Heres a photo of an es sample http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&u=http://www.arabpcworld.com/?p=5264 plugs will be normal area on release cards * oh crap me's too slow today :wanker:
I'm actually really excited for Kepler because it's going to be incredibly expensive based on the yields problem (which I finally understand thanks to Redemtion80) plus the power supply upgrade most people will need and the monthly power usage! In short I think it will create an opportunity for alternative cheaper choices. My current rig is designed to be cheap-ish, INCREDIBLY power efficient and silent as a leaf on a tree. Is that not also considered as being an enthusiast of sorts?
Only in cherrypicked benchmarks. Also not according to nvidia fans over at nvidia forums. They seem to love it no matter what and its the best of the best lol I would agree if it were 50% faster then 7970..
Don't pretend to be naive, performance reference without price reference means nothing. And I very, very much doubt 320mm2 chip will be 50% faster than 520mm2 580. But even if it's only 20% faster, AMD will bleed this round heavy on a pure perf/mm2.
But you shouldn't underestimate nvidia. Now and again they pop up with something totally extraordinary. Remember the original Geforce, Geforce2, Geforce4, G80? Seriously different approaches, that offered gamers with brilliant performance and IQ, whilst maintaining compatibility with most if not all AAA titles... and thats what matters right? Kepler will be great, you know it... you also know as a monolithic design its power reqs will be significant, but to reiterate the many posts in this thread, who cares how much power it requires? Its in the realm of most GTX570/580 or 590 systems so for most enthusiasts it doesnt matter. I live in both camps, quite happilly TBH, and I admire AMD Radeon, I really do, its very 'elegant', but elegance mean diddly-squat in regards to FPS, features and gaming industry support.
Just as unbeatable as the overgrown dustbuster 5800 eh? I actually hope that it's pretty powerful so that prices overall will come down. I'd love to get my hands on a 7970 or even two Kepler's for SLI. Time will tell.
I had one of those hairdryers, it was shocking TBH and it was soon swapped out for a Radeon x800 XTPE or whatever it was back then... but its no worse then some of the stuff ATI released since then. In fact as a fence-sitter you would have to say since the start of the DirectX culture, Nvidia have won more than they have lost... ... although when they lose its pretty badly!
