Great, i see it better. If you mean the DOF, thats taste. One doesnt have and the other does. Brick textures kills vanilla , projected clouds as well, not to mention lighting there, pretty crap on vanilla. The reflection cubemap as well. I will keep doing my stuff thanks.

You managed to be the guy that only likes the vanilla. Then play that one. Why you keep coming to modding threads about the game?

It does look better, a lot. You will see it later, or not. I dont care! :D

Don't worry, AlphaZ, don't rush and make a crappy product!

By the way, in my humble opinion, it looks great!

Only the way he's comparing stuff gives me goosebumps :(

    complete different scene setup :(

you cant really valid anything this way if you don't know the exact engine output yourself for exactly the same scene light and weather state.

also comparing a dof without dof result is false in it's logic

    It's not even that..

The original has texture detail from near to far.. You can literally feel the grooves in the bricks.

The "better" one looks like someone smeared Vaseline all over the screen and turned down the color saturation..

How is that better? It looks atrocious and more importantly.. Nothing close to how the real world looks through the eyes of a human on planet earth.

At first glance, it would appear worse....less color, less definition....
But the more i look, the more i like it...don't know, it just seems realistic.

Ps. Kad i msg you either here and on Youtube....could you send me the Beta please? thanks

That shot doesnt have all changed, it lacks stuff changed thats why. There's changed object texturing, cubemap, projected clouds, that reacts to the engine capabilites, the rest is not yet changed so it contrast with the original texturing. I think its pretty obvious. Mayne this stykc guy doesnt knows how many time this takes.

That is because of the Dof comparing a Dof result with a non Dof result is even stranger because detail response will be way different, of course you can't see any details anymore from the bumpmaps because it's gone under the blur and the lighting seems to flat it's a completely different light state.

This seems to become a mod where it will be way subjective if you like it or not but it's no thing you can analyze in a way of a objective improvement like you could for example in parts like of the particle behaviour.

ITs not the same ToD, or same hour, since i changed engine i cannot compare that anymore. And like i said, it takes time. I changed some object texturing that reacts to the engine capabilites there. The "smeared vasline" and the "color saturation" from the buildings those arent changed. And the lighting you see is the engine itself changed. When i change everything that building will look perfect, now its same as vanilla, which is crap.

The original game at daylight looks exactly like a 2004 game. Im changing all that and you argue about it. Its a WIP and it takes several time.

Maybe you have to learn to wait and respect other people when you are actually doing nothing.

Just a heads up - it's a lot easier to compare quality when both shots are at the same time of day. There are certain TODs that look a lot better. I have a cheat engine table that lets you control the time of day to anything you want. It might make things easier on ya.

So are you creating new, high res textures for things? If that's the case, I wonder if the game will ever get a massive texture overhaul. A lot of the rocks near water REALLY need it. They look baaaad.

This is my biggest criticism that he never really does that but shows most of the time some random results without a vanilla compare and it's not right that you can't do these exact light state compares you can do this.

I just posted without DOF and about same ToD. The ToD will never be the same as engine is changed. Lighting is changed as well from engine, it will never be the same, it looks better on 5.0, more alive, more real.

    Vanilla is flat.

You mean you've changed how the game looks (from a lighting perspective) at different times of day? So vanilla 8am would look different than your 8am? Different lighting, saturation, etc?

I said 3 times. It can never be same ToD. Engine is changed, lighting is changed. Specular, reflection, changed. Everything from vanilla is changed how it can be the same "ToD" if you mean as "sun" which is a light source that is changed.

And that shot is not about lighting anyway, it shows object texturing thats all, it takes time , im just showing progress.

Exactly, everything will be different, better. If you dont believe, then when you get the mod with some good object texturing changed also, set vanilla 8am and my mod 8am. Then you have your answer.
