So with the 'public' release I finally got around to testing out this fabled mod today. Not tried since the first couple of releases, which did absolutely nothing.

Being objective I'm going to compare it to TheWorses.....and.....

Pretty much the same in that not really different to vanilla, apart from the headlight shadows and DOF. But...

In this Kadzait mod, the headlights flicker like mad and are completely horrible and pointless. The Worse has sorted this issue out.

The DOF effect is absolutely appalling. It's literally about 5 feet in front of the character - at all times! Not dynamic in any way either. Absolutely awful.

With these findings - particularly the laughable attempt at DOF - it has confirmed to me that this kadzait guy has no real idea of what he's doing at all. Never did, never will.

Please refrain from these kind of comments, it doesn't help anyone. You have to understand that it's still in beta.

 

Just reporting my findings. Nothing else. If you don't like that, that's too bad.

I'm fully aware it's in 'beta'. It will always be in 'beta' though, don't you people see that? I'd love to be proven wrong. Seriously. But I doubt it.

You have no idea what you're talkin' about. Dof is a matter of taste has nothing to do with looking bad. And if you truly think it looks like Vanilla then there's truly something wrong with you. And it's easier for TheWorse to fix things 'cause he only has dof, bloom and headlight shadows. Not hard to fix things. Especially since TheWorse went from 0.7 to 0.8 in a week time?

 

Its the shadows that are giving bad performance. Medium shadows smooth's out the game big time.

Personally for me this mod has worked wonders. I tried The Worse mod and it increased stuttering on my high end machine and dropped frame rates substantially, i think high end graphics cards still need better optimization for such mods, but when I tried Kadzait24's mod v 3.0 the stuttering has decreased a lot, yes still some stuttering here and there but it does not ruin he experience what so ever :3

Hi everyone!

Kadz, I don't know what settings you used for Ultra Shadows, but that is the way to go for me. I get almost 0 stutter if I use High textures instead of ultra and Ultra shadows instead of High.

The rest is completly maxed out all ultra and 2x TXAA.

That's the way to go I guess. At least on my system. If I chose High shadow quality, all goes to hell after a few minutes of gameplay and I start getting massive amounts of stutter. With High textures and High shadows smooth gameplay lasts a bit longer, but eventually I get some stutter, so High textures + Ultra shadows all the way.

I'm going to upload a demonstration video shortly (About 45 minutes to complete upload of the video (1.63GB video file as maxed as possible - I know youtube will downgrade it, but whatever)

What else can impact this... I have an SSD+HD combo and record to an external drive.

Hello, I am very disappointed with this MOD 5.0 Beta Test 3.
The only improvement I see is the lighting in streets, car lights, car lights shadows. But the light poles do not have the aura around.
No fog, no improvement in explosions, no improvement in rain, the DOF is horrible because this always on, so I had to turn it off, because tired eyes. And it should be like the DOF dynamic by VAAS.
No improvement in the wind and is equal to the original game. No improvement in vapor sewers.
Where are the improvements in rain, wind, fog, explosions?
Did you notice that the gameplay on youtube showing Kadzait24, it is a Chinese gameplay?
The menu of weapons are in Chinese. And the subtitles too. And apparently he also modify some parameter to have infinite ammo. Can anyone explain that?
Kadzait24 uploaded the video on his youtube account and facebook, but I'm realizing that those videos are not yours.
The Kadzait24 mod no improvement shown in the Chinese gameplay. mainly in explosions
This mod does not have much difference from the original game. I am very disappointed

if Kadz authorize me to repack my settings with his mod yes, but i will wait the final version from Kadz i dont want to interfere with the beta testing

I can get that smoothness only if I set Shadows to Ultra instead of the recommended High and textures to High instead of Ultra (Everything else maxed out with 2x TXAA).

Can you shed some light into what modifications you did?

Also for Kadz, BOSS gave authorization so that you can use is DOF variant, he just asks for you to give him credit for the settings.
