so far i put less than an Hr of gameplay and it's great, the only major bug i have to report are quick flashes of lights on shadows during the day. it flashes like ever 2 -3 seconds i think, and it just keeps going.

that being said, it looks beautiful!!

Can you fix or improve the shadow resolution? It is terribly low right now.

I like the dof, but Vaas his dof is really nice as well. But lets face it, dof isn't that important to begin with so if you don't like it you could always turn it off. When he has the finished project he might put more dof files and also so it performs better on lower end riggs.

Very performance heavy. Since he has a lot of stuff added and on ultra quality. Although 30-40 is really good. But sure 60 is nicer, it's smoother. But I'm playing without a mod at 20 so xD. With this mod I got 5 XD

The mod adds several changes and activates several stuff that has been turned off at vanilla by ubisoft. Of course it will eat FPS, there's nothing to suprise about it, a game looking better with also take more resources.

About the shadows, i can improve the resolution, but it will also affect FPS, i did the shadows like that to make it better in terms of performance, i have my version with my shadows and it does look much better but it takes more FPS.

This game is heavy, think its about 2 engines merged and a sandbox game.

I will release the final version with different configs for every people tastes, though i cant be on everyone's

Sadly, no. Kadzait's working on things such as getting the whole E3 effect during all times of day, and improving performance. If you know how to, you could use other people's DoFs.

Can you release the version with the higher resolution shadows? With that the game will look perfect!

I said a lot of times about the DOF, please read the thread and the FB page where i already talked about the DOF. DOF is not modding.

Sure, i will. But if people suffers from FPS that is obvious, with more shadows it will require more power. So, that version would be basically for SLI/Cross, that will also result in more stutter as multiple GPU is not going well with WD.

Okay, so here are my impressions of the 0.3 beta:

First the good things. THE POTENTIAL. Oh I can see it. The strng wind (now this is really "The Windy City" now) which looks fantastic on both the trees and Aidens jacket. The Lighting during the day looks great and during the night it looks awesome. kaidzait expanded the range of the headlight shadows and it is just beautiful how far away objects now show dynamic shadows.

There seems to be much more "smoke" in the air from the cars exhausts or sewers though I'm not sure about the latter. The HDR-effect is strong but one of the first things I noticed was that interiors did not become super-dark at first when you enter. He seemed to have nailed HDR pretty good.

But of course this is a beta and I spotted several bugs:

    - very strong flickering of headlights and many textures they shine on
    - bloom flickers, I guess it happens because there is much bloom + movement
    - clouds are moving very fast; possible side-effect of speed-up wind

And the most drastic problem, at least on my setup (see signature for specs): The performance.

Now with everything set as suggested in the readme, the mod is hands-down unplayable. I'd be lucky if I get 20 fps and when I move the motion blur makes for some terrible stutter like I have never experienced with the vanilla game.

Things get better when I turn my settings back to where they were before; pretty much all of it "high". The mod seems to still work then, which is good. Turning off motion blur helps with the stutter. But still then performance is steill kinda bad. I get around ~30fps on foot where in vanilla + SweetFX I'd get around 45 to 48.

So I guess performance is the biggest construction site right now. But again...the potential of this mod seems to be awesome. I guess with more time (and us being patient) this'll achieve greatness. :)

    Keep it up kadzait!

v3 is probably like least buggy dynamic headlights I have seen in all of the WD mods, however there still is some minor flickering when driving or walking about at night.

Feature Request: Release a Version without the Dynamic Headlight changes till the flickering is resolved!

    Thanks!

    You can edit GamerProfile.xml

Find and change from ShadowQuality="high" to ShadowQuality="pc".

Also it seems slightly improved shadow resolution and fps as well.

    EDIT: 2 differents shadow quality
