On 3Dmark 2006, that score is pretty good for your rig.

    Heres mine : http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=191554 all @ stock

yo sad news but its definitely your cpu bottleneck. i check futuremark's online result browser and NO ONE under 3 ghz pentiums has over 7200 3dmark05. in fact under 3ghz i am like #2/3 ranked lol. i seen semprons beat the **** out of my pentium considering the score. i dont know if its 3dmark05 program or whatever but even ppl with amd semprons and x1800xt get higher 3dmark05 then my pentium 4 630 3ghz.....its sad. but ur 3dmark06 seems not bad. but compared with Foey's extra 300 points i think that translate into a lot more. like a 1000 3dmark05 points or however its translated.

i just received my x1800xt and i only get 7000 3dmark05 also with my p4 630 3ghz....its so gay. we all know p4 630 3ghz is definitely faster then semprons so why is it bottlenecking so bad. damn it i should bought an amd comp instead lol. too late now. but ive seen once p4 speed increases from 3ghz there is a drastic increase in 3dmark05 scores. even 3.4ghz and you see like 800+ points different.

Guys do you know how i can overclock my p4 630 3ghz? with stock fan. i dont want to bother with any changing cooling and stuff. how much is safe for that cpu? 3.2ghz at least? or 3.4? ive seen ppl go to lke 3.8ghz but is that with cooling?

btw im running the x1800xt on a 300w and its really fine. ur 375w is fine too then haha. but i dont think i can overclock cpu with 300w :O might need new psu.

When I had a P4 (original prescott on S478) I could get it up by 400mhz on stock volts so that should be easy enough for you too do.

However any more and it required a lot of voltage increases.

Are u sure ur running on a 300w PSU? cos ur profile says 450watt or something...

Anyway, u can go as high as u like on stock cooler, its just how high ur temps are....

you heard right. 300w. its running fine. no crashes. its the cpu. its so sad that a guy with a sempron beats my system by 1500 points :( what the hell is wrong with intel pentiums. but i think i need to buy a better psu if i wanna overclock my pentium.

oblivion runs fine for me except when there are big battles or a lot of people or enemies moving.

    Is that my cpu bottlenecking?

Im pretty sure it is, just checkin though cause i heard oblivion loves dual core.

  8. It's probably a combination of you CPU and ram. 3Gz or better and 2GB is highly recommended for this game to keep it smooth. And also your CPU is dual core if it is a pentium "D" 2.8....what do you think the "D" stands for?

i think my ram is fine.

    1 gig at 533 mhz

anyway, its "dual" like crap said.

whered u get pentium from a d, dumbass? (lol, d for dumbass)

  12. Even if your ram is at 533Mhz, you would still benefit from more trust me.;)
And I'm hoping he was just being a smart ass, or mistook it for a "P"......*sigh*....who knows........

Please do not turn this topic into a flame war. Yes, a P4 D is a 'dual-'core' CPU. In games, you would hardly notice the difference with getting higher RAM clocks/timings.
