Just bought a 660 Ti. Worse performance than my 6870. What's going on?

After all of this, the solution seems pretty clear:

1)Remove Geforce 660 Ti and return for refund
    2)Put Radeon 6870 back in

    ;)

In some games it performs very well yes but fps drop hard on high settings with AA.

Maybe its just a driver Problem, but back to Guildwars 2 its possible that Guildwas 2 self have some bugs, my FPS drops 2 weeks ago after a patch.

For myself i will wait one month more before I decide between 660TI and 7870.

the 660ti will still destroy a 6870 in those benches as well. so whats the point exactly?
@op if all else fails try a format and windows reinstall.

    Update:

    Uninstalled Nvidia drivers, rebooted.
Used Driver Sweeper to clean both ATI/Nvidia files.
    Deleted existing ATI/Nvidia folders.
    Rebooted
    Reinstalled current Nvidia drivers.

Huge boost in performance! Guild Wars 2 now matches my 6870 in speed:

GTAIV now runs at 45-85FPS on Medium settings.

Still feels like this card isn't outputting what it should, but it looks like it's a file problem, or something conflicting. A Windows re-installation should probably fix the card entirely.

Thank you so much for your help guys! Something as simple as cleaning old files out gave it a large boost in performance, a reformat will probably unleash it!

    Congratz!

Driver Sweeper solved your problem huh? Its weird that Driver Sweeper wasnt suggested earlier, they suggested Driver Fusion recently but back then Driver Sweeper was the number 1 suggestion.

Never EVER use vertical sync in GW2 since the game has some serious optimization problems etc...

And now do as I said and witness your own eyes, set shaders and shadows in graphic options to low, you will see almost NO difference but your performance will EXPLODE!

how low shadows (no dynamic shadows) make no difference? o_O, its the most important one (altho i remove it on MvM), and shaders usually make big one, idk in gw2...

There's a large difference when you lower/disable Shaders.

Like said earlier not cpu issue and people been complain about 6xx series cards and or the drivers running GTA4 terrible for while. A format probably wont help much more if any so I would really do that less you can easily get things back to the way you like it.
