Exactly, i fully admit i was defending him before i had even seen the clip (because it's Clarkson being Clarkson - he takes a pop at everyone) BUT, after actully seeing the full clip (not the cut down ones the news and other sites kept posting) he states before saying it "we have to balance it though because this is the BBC". Frankly he shouldn't have appologized at all considering the entire statement which was making a valid point (the BBC being far to PC).

boycott a GREAT program because of one absolute idiot. Jeremy Clarkson is an idiot (a funny one at that), but an idiot none the less, he has always said the most stupidest of things, he is an arrogant toff in my book and has no reality on how "normal" people live. Not a chance in hell id miss top gear for him. Honestly, people need too pull their thumb out their arses, big deal, one guy (thats known for saying stupid things), says something stupid... get over it! As far as im concerned, their are a "few" public sector works that really should be shot.
Top Gear is successful because Clarkson's personality and the interaction he has with May and Hammond. I can guarantee if he wasn't 'like this' Top Gear would probably be no bigger than Fifth Gear. Its an enterainment show about cars, and not a car show in its own right. Not only does it provide entertainment, but also gives viewers the opportunity to 'experience' vehicles that most won't have a chance of owning. Even the challenges are great. Who would have thought you can turn a hilux into a successful channel crossing vessel?

I'm so sick of top gear repeats on dave - but i still watch them because nothing else is worth watching - I can tell you exactly what they're going to say before they say it! Jeremy Clarkson is paid to be a knob and people like it - he gets paid well. I'm sure that he is more chilled out behind the scenes. I do wish top gear would stop moving in a Homer Simpson direction though or I may lose interest in the new ones, I'll still watch them a million time on dave though, probably!
Make big money...insult the people who actually have to work for their money. note: not all strickes have a "valid" reason if you ask me but still you shouldn't say things like that when you get a bucket of money for every show.
