Accepting the death toll and sickness is how countries have always dealt with things.

At the start I thought South Korea had the right idea, but now I think they are just kicking the can down the road.

I never said that, in fact I have said I would LOVE to hear what other world leaders are saying about this pandemic, but nobody has posted anything. Has China won? I don't know, this is a new type of war.

    Is it the weather?

I know that is the reason here in Scotland, but our weather is so bad for most of the year that you have no chance keeping people indoors when the sun is out. So many people being furloughed also means every day is now the weekend.

That was an unauthorized no-vax propaganda demonstration, no masks, no secure distancing. In the last minute the province gave the OK. The funny is you can still be fined if you take a sun-bath in the middle of no-where.

Some encouraging news. Preliminary of course but still...some good news is better than bad news

About 1% of kids who visited a Seattle hospital in April had been infected with the novel coronavirus, according to the first large-scale survey for antibodies in children. The study also found most of the youngsters developed a robust immune response, an encouraging sign for a future vaccine.

"If children can respond to the virus, then children can respond to a vaccine," said Dr. Janet Englund, an infectious disease specialist at Seattle Children's and co-author of the report. "And vaccines that are given to children are one of the most effective ways to stop the spread of disease in the community."

Most of the children who tested positive for antibodies had no symptoms of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. That fits with widespread evidence that children are much less likely than adults to become ill or die.

The analysis has not yet been peer reviewed or published in a scientific journal, and researchers caution it is just a snapshot that doesn't shed light on two of the most vexing unknowns about the pandemic: the role of children in spreading the virus, and what is likely to happen when schools reopen.

"This is just a baby step," Englund said. "But this is, to my knowledge, the first study of seroprevalence in children."

The research team analyzed blood samples from 1,076 children who sought care for any reason at Seattle Children's hospital in March and April. Most of the visits were for emergencies unrelated to the coronavirus. But the group is not a random sample so the results may not reflect the general population, said lead author Adam Dingens, of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.

I find it strange you can not do certain things like go to church but you can protest and have them enable rioters and looting
same democrat city's and states that were sooooooo strict are not giving a crap about 1000's so close together
do not try to tell me this is not political
the right to protest is not bigger than the right to go to a house of worhip
just might I add this the locusts part

Who said you can protest, riot and loot?

Any examples of the National Guard shooting church goers.

Not that I disagree with how (some) of these rioters are being dealt with as it's fully deserved but im confused how you found this to be an apple's to apples comparison.

they can protest and no social distancing tickets or arrests
but a guy playing ball with his son got arrested so did a guy who had a church service in his parking lot with people in cars and many many others at beaches.
but it seems protesters are not getting bothered and in the most strict lib cities
not sure you watch the news man they are getting away with murder and many other things
the mayors and gov. all say light touch to deal with them so pepper spray and tear gas for what they are doing they could be shot man.
my main point like pot smokers church goers obey the law and are easy to rule over.
these protests just enable the violence its too bad to say really but look at what happens at every "peaceful" protest in the last 5 days
no cops are shooting anyone so I don't know where you got that from
even in nyc the cops would have cracked every one of the scum bags rioters in the head a long time ago so they are being too nice like all the cops have been so far.
oh and don't come crying when they start shooting either this is law and order not anarchy

I'm lucky I live where we've only had 36 deaths so far. Seeing the destruction this virus has caused to other areas scares me and I hope for a vaccine/cure sooner than they're projecting so no more people have to die. It's sad to me to see tough people who have survived wars and other hardships only to be taken away because of the virus.

I really won't advise to do outside right now in USA. Not only you can get COVID-19, but also a bullet in your face. I am a bit interested in what direction all this will go.
    Stay safe people in USA!

Eh, category error. Going to church and engaging in civil disobedience are not the same thing. And there you are injecting your politics into the thread. Well, let me digress a bit... while the racist Birther in Chief, who you are apparently a Yuuuuge fan of, is hiding out in his bunker with Stephen Miller

while he and others in the admin devise more Twitter Molotov's to inflame, not inform. Why is this POS in a position of leadership in the US?

I am hoping up here in Scotland while the lockdown is still partially in effect and the schools won't be open fully until Agust that we are on the same path are NZ to getting it down to zero cases over a few weeks, so fingers crossed....although from what i have seen over the last few days we might be seeing it rising in the few weeks as the cretins have decided that some sun means its all over.

Same here in Germany. We opened almost everything. Hotels, schools, gyms, shops, public baths and so on. I just wait for stuff to happen ... can't take long...

Graphics are top notch, but no quicksave and permadeath. Thanks, but I stay at World War Z. :D

It won't be, deaths will probably be zero or low though.

The lockdown is pretty much over in Glasgow, which is probably for the best as it gives us a better picture before schools go back.

Pointless sending them back after a lockdown, then acting surprised when cases increase.

27 deaths in the country along with 27 remaining in ICU with the condition, not sure what the new case number was specifically something like 50 new cases over the last week or so. The issue is the mixed messaging. Go do x, y and z but only if you obey a, b and c but you can't do a, b and c if x, y and z. It's not been quite as shambolic as south of the border but it isn't far off.

Was out on my bike and stopped just outside Balloch Park for a quick break. The cops had closed off the car park I assume to try and divert people away but this had been ignored, someone had pushed the barrier aside and cars where just driving round it. Very obvious examples of social distancing not being followed, as per amongst individuals of the younger age. Then to add to the farce two foot cops walk by look at what's going on clearly see the barrier being ignored and the groups clearly not social distancing, and just walk on by.

The FM said it's fine to go do x as long as you follow a, b and c, the cops decided to try and control it by doing y. The cops see that y isn't working and folk aren't following a, b or c so opt to just do nothing and that pretty much sums up the entire approach in the UK as a whole. Guidelines, follow them please, jazzy slogan about the greater good, throw a million different opinions and thought pieces at the problem and see if anything sticks.
