The U.S. is following the same trajectory as Italy, 10 days behind:
dad, what did you do during the great coronavirus outbreak?

Looks like Finland will go in lockdown.
For those that are considering taking Vitamin D, be very careful with that stuff. Vitamin D is actively converted into a hormone by the body (calcitriol) and can create many increased dependencies on other nutrients if you overdo it and cause them to be depleted.
I know this for a fact because it happened to me over a decade ago when the "everyone is deficient in Vitamin D" craze swept across the U.S and many other countries. Vitamin D is very important for a strong immune system there is no doubt, but it does not work in a vacuum. To get the most out of Vitamin D requires that you also take several other cofactors, namely Vitamin A, Zinc, boron, Vitamin K2, calcium and perhaps the most important one of all, magnesium.
Magnesium depletion can easily occur when you take high dose of Vitamin D over prolonged periods of time, because the body uses magnesium to convert Vitamin D from it's stored form (calcidiol) to the active form which is the hormone calcitriol that is responsible for all the beneficial effects.
I'm not advising against taking Vitamin D, because it truly is powerful for priming the immune response against viral infections. All I'm saying is, do your research properly and educate yourself before attempting it.
Now that Europe has been hit hard with Covid, signs point that the US will be next in line with an uncontrollable spread. Stay safe homies!
Coronavirus reality check: 7 myths about social distancing, busted
Any reference to back up our opinion?
I am not saying for specifically COVID-19. I am saying about vit D and its effect on all Respiratory infections including common flu
Published on 2018 August British Medical Journal.
Done double blinded randomized control trial on 11k subjects. And it proved what it intended to..
We are not talking about flu. We do not have quite anything about all this crap. This is the point. Taking vitamins without a provision from a md doctor is just stupid and a waste of money and in the worst rare cases also dangerous.
Vitamin D (as well as some other vitamins) has broad antiviral capabilities. It doesn't just work against only the flu.
I agree that taking vitamins without proper education and knowledge can be dangerous. As I alluded to on the previous page, Vitamin D can strongly affect the levels of other micro nutrients in the body and can cause an imbalance if it's used incorrectly.
But when used properly, Vitamin D can have astonishing health benefits!
Our country (The Netherland) seems to be going for herd immunity aka weeding out the weak.
Never liked our prime minister, but didn't know he was that much of a monster.
Heard something about the Dutch queuing for cannabis, as coffee shops close.
Setting their priorities straight.
You said 'weeding'
Cannabis helps in a fight with the virus.
Yeah, while it does sound horrible, and I agree with you, I think that in the end it will come to this anyway. And by that I mean that we don't know when/if/how this virus will stop, and we simply can't afford to shut down the world for the next 6 months (1-2 months maybe, but more, will be very bad). Because if we do, the economic collapse will be far, far more deadly. But to go the herd immunity route this early, is stupid, definitely.
The marijuana store is one I figure will be closing soon. (I'm 25 miles from Seattle) I started stocking up there a week ago in anticipation. I say it's a critical service but I suspect my local government does not feel the same.
We should made a covid-19 meme thread..
Not sure how good this idea is, I don't think we know for sure that we even get immunity later, let alone for how long.
Crazy experiment for sure.
So my daughter's best friend (22) with immune issues has symptoms and the friend's Doctor said he thinks she has coronavirus and told her to self-quarantine. They could not test her to confirm, there is a shortage of tests. (this is a typical story in much of U.S.) My daughter saw her about 4-5 days ago and I have been my daughter's taxi every other day. I told my daughter she should isolate for 2 weeks in her apartment. I suspect if they confirm the case, they would ask her to do the same. But meanwhile, we are always a step behind the virus. I gave her 4 of our masks to wear. Overstocking Mom had a box, pre-apocalypse. It's hitting home so it's really creeping up now. It's rather unpleasant.
For me, the confirmed, local, infected zombie count:
--State: 904 (48 deaths)
Who knows how many there really are but I know it's got to be a fair bit higher.
Microsoft has an interactive map of confirmed cases:
