Is this proof VSR can do more than 4k?

I'm sorry if this has already been done but at least i haven't seen anyone
    talk about it so.

Today i was playing around with my crimson driver and i noticed the eyefinity
option in Display's additional settings, so i started playing around with it, I got
my second screen recently so i had no idea you can actually merge it and make
windows think its one big screen. So i did it and played around few games, but
then i thought of something that pretty much blew my mind. I went ahead
and activated VSR on both of the screens. Oddly enough it worked, the goddamn
resolution became from 3840x1080 to 6400x1800.. i mean holyf**k. So yeah
i went straight ahead and tried the resolution in some games, and bloodie hell
it works. But if i got my math straight

3840x2160(aka UHD) is 8 million pixels
6400x1800(aka WTF) is 11 million pixels

If my r9 290x can downsample a resolution that is bigger with 3 million pixels
than 4k... then why the hell are we struggling to get it up to 4k?

    oh and yeah proof...

pic was too big to upload into some random pic site.

And for the raw of dead pixels.. I'm sorry but afterburner couldn't take
a proper picture.. i tried 10 times, every single time there's pixels missing
    somewhere.

    Take care bro.

AMD true believers are not very far and you actually debunked all BS hardware scaler needed for VSR 4K in GCN 1.1 ...until drivers are patched again to make it impossible...again.

    :)

Two 1080p monitors in eyefinity mode fed by a single 290X "inferior" VSR GPU who can't handle 4K VSR due to the lack of "hardware" scaler since it was "extirpated" from our beloved GCN 1.1 GPUs via drivers after it was possible in 15.3-15.5 modded drivers.

Now coming right from "The Twilight zones" this "inferior" GPU is able to feed not one BUT TWO 1080p monitor with a downsampled uber unbelivable 6400x1800 unique image to two different 1080p images.

One for each monitor, different images at the same time and both images side to side making sense like they were a single wider monitor image.

No hidden "powerful" Nvidia GPU installed like my GTX 650 1 GB who can provide 4K downsample via DSR in drivers.

Who will be the first to say the image comes from a "software" scaler?

    Which one?

Is the left monitor image coming from a "software" scaler and not a "hardware" scaler?

    The right one?

Both with the help of a fifth dimension hardware scaler?

    Thanks, this is too much.

But that ain't done using VSR, that's 3 4ks next to one another..
    You're missing the point.

nope this was done by 3 1080p monitors using modded vsr set to 4k than set to eyefinity

15.3 were modded to allow UHD VSR for the 290/x so it definitely has the power for it, as you shown.

That's what the rebadged products are for.

No, your old card won't do it but this new-exactly-the-same-hardware-as-old card will!

PS I'm hoping Hilbert will add WTF resolution to VGA benchmarks ;)
    FHD, WQHD, UHD, WTF

Yeah but why can't we do it with the modded bios, I'm with some 8GB r9 390X bios..

The 390/x doesn't officially support UHD VSR either.

...does anyone remember those days when we could fool Radeon 9500 into 9700 with one stroke of the pencil? :D

    [IMG] [IMG]

I do. I did it for my personal 9500 and for all my all friends who has it. It works absolutely fine all the way. And in the end it costs 150 bucks cheaper than 9700 :p Such wonderful times...

I wonder why hackers doesn't add elctronical parts to hack/add features like on xbox360?
that will unleash so much potential for our GPUs!!
