Is this a pretty good computer build? I have some of the components already... but I am going to buy others. Processor - Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 Yorkfield 2.5GHz 6MB L2 Cache Graphics- Evga 9800GTX - 512mb (might overclock) Motherboard- Evga 750i sli ftw Ram- 4gb ddr2 Heatsink/fan- thermaltake spinq Hard drive- ~290gb (idk what manufacture is)
assuming u v the components listed in ur post-buy a good branded PSU (preferably 600W-750W) so u v the headroom for SLIing the 9800GTXs & as for the GFX uif u v n't bought it yet-buy the 9800GTX+ or better worth invest in a GTX260 216 if u r into high resolution gaming.
well, im just going to get a 9800gtx because I can personally overclock it to what the 9800gtx+ is at... easily, and probably higher. I have considered a gtx260 216... but, its sorta out of my budget
People have stated the 750 chipsets run pretty darn warm so have some decent airflow. The Evga board had some of the best reviews in this class. You won't be dissappointed. The E8400 is a great processor for the money. If it's a primarily a gaming machine the quad won't be that much of a benefit at this time.
the motherboard came w/ a chipset fan for o/c. I think i should get a quad because most new games are saying they will use quads better than duals... im still fighting weather to get the q6600 or q9300, its so confusing!
Get the quad u listed-& u'll be more than happy in the next or better worth get the Q9450/Q9550 or get a Q6600 which is jst about the E8400-then in about a year sell it & get a Q9xxx processor & OC like hell
yeah... now i just gota find a place that doesnt charge 14 bucks for a 12v molex to 8pin connector...
