So I happened to be browsing the GPU section on Newegg.ca today and saw that GPUs like the RX 580 were back in stock, and back to reasonable prices as well. Also did a cursory check on the GTX 1060, 1070 and RX Vega cards and they all seemed to be fully stocked (limit 5 or 10 per customer so no shortages at all).

Is the mining craze finally over? Can gamers finally get GPUs for reasonable prices now? Anyone else know what the situation is at their local/favorite retailer/e-tailer?

Nah, I think there just too many GPUs floating around. Perhaps supply finally met its demand.
But yeah, I guess people who wanted to tried it, already got stock up and running. Maybe they finally figured out electricity bill doesn't cut the profit or moved to more efficient hardware. ASIC, etc...
