I am dying to purchase this... money sitting here waiting for it .... but in all my usual online sellers (scan.co.uk, overclockers, even amazon.co.uk) ... it is out of stock.

I ordered and paid for mine sometime last month. Still waiting for it.
Currently listed as arriving on 8th of August. But it's been pushed back twice already.
So I'm expecting it when it arrives.

    Edit
If you want one you better order one.
Some stores list 100 on the way. When they have sold those in pre-orders , they list a new date and so on. So the date keeps being pushed back.
So if you want to get in line you may have to order now.

Yes, I see similar stuff going on with scan.co.uk (due in last Friday, then Friday comes and changed to due in 5th etc.) They all do this. I don't think they even know themselves.

Anyway only reason I didn't preorder was a) I don't like just transferring my money to them so they can hold onto it, while not actually having the thing I want themselves. b) in case someone else has it.

Also there are other related items needed that are also out of stock now (ROG STRIX X570 E, The 3600MHz 32GB modules needed)

Amazon even says (due in 1 to 2 months) :D

I heard some big Asian retailers are taking as many as whole of Europe.

Amazon UK is the cheapest by far, waiting on mine. In my experience companies like Amazon, well i mean Amazon full stop as they have far greater purchase power than any other retailer, may well be a priority.

The 3800X is also hard to get. One day it's in stock the day after it's sold out.
A new shipment comes in and rinse and repeat.

Not from what I saw yesterday actually surprisingly enough.... Amazon 3900X £525, while Scan was £490

I had planned to get this since it came out... but now... no way... no point just having FPS in games... also need multi-core productivity performance... which Intel is keeping exclusive for its ultra-expensive HEDT processors

Lucky... you got the first batch.

Now I am worried that with the backlog and queue of out-of-stock Ryzen related gear... things will be horsed out of the factories with faster speed than normal and quality control will drop. eg. the Strix motherboards

I was going to get the 3800X but was told (aggressively on reddit) it was a waste of money and no better than 3700X.... basically just an up-sell to increase profit margin... I checked youtube vids about it and found they were telling truth.

Yup, pretty much. Just get a good cooler on the 3700X and a decent motherboard and it will probably match the 3800X on it own or just enable PBO.

Already had a 2700X on an X370 board and the 3900X works fine. Even boosts to 4.65GHz on its own on a 240mm AIO.

Supply & Demand 101. They are all ramping up the price & profit margin... just because they can.
