Had to roll back to due my odd needs. I use a large 55 inch screen as my primary gaming monitor because I can not sit in a desk chair for any period of time. I tend to use some custom res trickery to play racing games in 21:9 ultra wide on a 16:9 display which at 55 inches still leaves me a 50 inch 21:9 space.

When I upgraded to Win 10 the ability to create custom resolutions was problematic. Main issue is that any of my custom 21:9 resolutions like 2560x1080 would fill the entire screen when it should be letter boxed like a cinemascope movie. Seems the "Override scaling modes set by apps and games" isnt working.

Can anyone comment on this feature. I would like to go back to Win 10.

    Thx

yes sir, they are fixed in the latest 358.70 Developer drivers, they were released just 3 days ago, custom resolutions are fully working on these and games are butter smooth. and yes scaling seems to be fixed as well. havent had an issue with scaling.

Nice. I will make a new Win 8.1 image in case I need to roll back and try Win 10 again today. Thx ! I assume there isn't much of an increase in performance ? Not concerned about that really. Just prefer not taking any steps back.

I still get a black screen when I try to create a custom resolution of 3840x2160. I haven't been able to since I upgraded from a GTX580, I can use 2560x1440 though.

I have had the same issue since I upgraded from my 570. I can't do Custom resolutions without problems beyond a certain point.

That's not OS related though. before 358.50, in win10 you couldn't create the same resolutions that you could in win7 and win8/8.1.

The issue you guys are talking about is entirely separate.

Could someone with a 16:9 display on win10 try a 21:9 custom res for me and see if the aspect ratio is correct ? Should be letterboxed and some games will give you more width.

1920x823 is one and it keeps a 1080p display in it's native res. I tend to use 2560x1080 and 2880x1234. This is a nice option for large displays as the width ends up being way more informative for FPS and racing. Thx.

While that's true, I was simply replying to his comment about having that issue.(Which is different than his OP question) I had the same one is all. :)
