I currently have onboard a nVidia GeForce 6150SE graphics card and I was offered a Radeon R520 X1300 Pro card for free and after much research, I still can't decide whether it would be worth it to install the Radeon card or if I would be better off without it. I'd appreciate any input for or against this card before I buy the necessary adapters for it. Thanks!
No because AMD stopped support for them over a year ago. I have the ATI 1600. Nvidia still has support for your onboard. So it comes down to what you are using it.
Depends what you use your PC for. Technically the 1300 Pro is faster. It has dedicated VRAM (GDDR2) and VRAM bandwidth of ~12GB/s, where as the 6100 will be using syatem RAM and bandwidth will suffer as a result. Moving from your integrated video to the 1300 Pro won't be much help with gaming, as both cards are just as weak there. Whether or not the ATI card supports better video decoding or other features you may want, I don't know. You'd have to check out some reviews/tech spec sheets to see if anything you're interested in is listed.
