Is Nvidia PhysX GPU acceleration necessary?

    Well I'm all for PhysX if it gives you extra eye candy and better physics. Don't know why people with Nvidia cards are complaining. You're getting it for free.

    I've been playing Cryostasis Maxed out at 1280x1024-2xaa and without PhysX turned on the fps takes a hit, but with it on the game is playable, so it definitely makes a difference and I'm all for it. I'm looking forward to all the other PhysX games.

    Of course. Your gpu is so weak that it's slower for PhysX than normal CPU. It has to do graphics too. I happen to own one 8400GS card too and I know what it can do and what it can't.
