Is Deus Ex worth buying?

There's a new mod that came out called Nameless mod. It looks pretty good, but I want to make sure the game itself is also good. Is it worth the $10.00 is what i'm asking. I'm sure I wouldn't regret losing only 10, but i'd like to make sure if it's good.

You're right, the sequel was a major flop... the contrast was really not good... I played the sequel for like 5 mins or something and thought how could they mess up the original's legendary work... lol

 

Why would you buy the inferior original when the sequel is only a hundred times better in terms of open world-ness, story, plot, and gameplay?

 

The OP means that there is a mod for the original which is cool... not the sequel...

I made the mistake of playing the sequel before the original. I enjoyed the sequel quite a bit. Then I played the original and yes it was 10 times better. But it doesn't change the fact that I still enjoyed them both. I don't think it was as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

 

I happen to think that both the Original And the sequel are great.. I tend to like DXIW Alittle bit more though because i am a graphics nut for that generation of games (though theyre not "stunning", i just dont like the blawky look of the original DX in contrast to DXIW)

.... here are two ideas:

1. get the PC version of Deus Ex for PC as (mod or no mod) either way a great game.

(AND/OR)

2. Get Deus Ex Invisible war with No mods for the original XBOX because the PC DXIW version doesnt work with all video cards... ...(alot of people experienced a "Victoria Error" on the PC ver. of DXIW) I heard that Porting DXIW to the PC was total failure...in other words it wasnt compatable with certain video cards from Nvidia.. allthough Im not sure about issues with ATI cards.

These are just my Opinion though.... so bottom line: If buying this Title, get DX original for PC, or get DXIW for the XBOX (Original)

I would play it if it were good. By what people say here it turns out it is. I'll save some scrap money.

Worth buying for sure. Im gonna check out the mod to give me an excuse to replay through it, lol. Im burnt out on ME2. Good call Crush!!!

 

play them both. the sequel isnt as good, but if you can get it in a dollar bin, do it.

The sequel is weak compared to the original. But that doesn't mean invisible war is bad, it just isn't as good as the first one. It's still pretty good for $1-5

Oh, and take into consideration, the game is old. Don't expect really nice graphics. But the gameplay and the story are excellent.

BTW i played through invisible war 3 times, i'm considering a 4th time too.
Make sure you get the high resolution packs.

 

What rock have you been living under, Deus Ex was one of the most praised games of the past 10 years.
