Is 570 nvidia graphics card good enough for general gaming

    :stewpid: My nvidia 450 seems a little slow ---- I do not think I need a 670 so would 570 be good enough for most games....also I need an affordable power supply for the 570 --- what is a good one ..............:bang: peter ,, kansas

    You might as well wait to see what the GTX 660 will offer.
    Performance is guesssed to be between GTX 570 and GTX 580 needing only one 6 pin power connector. Performance without needing more power.

    570 for general gaming...
    more than enough but better go for newer card like 660 and 670 as been said earlier by our friends

    For you yes since your current power supply is good enough.
    But no for the OP since his power supply does not meet the recommended wattage for the GTX 480.

    I would also say GTX660, it will perform similar to a GTX570 but at half the power consumption so you won't have to change your PSU and save some money, but still no word on when you can actually buy one ... If you're in a hurry then I'd also sugest you look at AMD HD7850 - it's chaper, offers similar performance as a GTX570 (or to be more precise between GTX560Ti 448 and GTX570) and it consumes only ~120W so your PSU would be just fine.

    What make and model is your 550w?

    The 570 would serve you well for general gaming, but like posted above; waiting for the 660 may offer a better option and possibly cost you less over all.
