The new name still fits. New trailer shows a lot of cool new stuff.. I'm really looking forward to this release
Thread title updated (also all Iron Maiden CDs tossed to the bin, lols) PS: saw this change yesterday when I started wondering how the hell I have something called Ion Fury installed in Steam... then realised okay, so they changed the title.
A bit of a shame on the name (I like Ion Maiden better - makes more sense when the protagonist is a girl), but better than some lawyer halting / blocking the final product. Any words on the game being moddable? Someone could mod the title screen! XD
Considering it's built on eDuke32 source port foundation it's likely just as moddable as any Build source port. Ie. very.
https://twitter.com/lazygamereviews/status/1159581257677672448 I can also support this. The game is much larger then most people are expecting. And probably... harder. The Preview Campaign is misleading, as they were still balancing difficulty at that point. But it is SO good. You guys will not be disappointed.
crap, I found the game kinda difficult on anything higher than medium lol. Am I that bad? Game is fun as hell though, cant wait for the full release!
The full game is more challenging then the Preview Campaign. Though, there has been some deep testing recently on enemy balancing.
Oh man this is coming out tomorrow?! HELL yeah, I need another quality oldskool FPS in my life. DUSK is incredible, and Amid Evil is really fun but I enjoyed the preview of Ion Maiden (Sue me lol) more than Amid Evil.
I can finally say, I've been testing this for the past month. The game is beyond amazing. Can not wait to see what people's reactions are when they get into it. It's also much larger then most will expect... it easily took me around 12 hours my first time, and that's without heavy secret hunting.
While I appreciate the nostalgia and the things that made the FPS genre what it is today, I just can't get excited for this. After being used to modern graphics it's hard to get excited by game graphics from my high school years.
Well, your lose then. There are plenty of amazing looking games... that are about as deep as a puddle, and as entertaining as paint drying.
This game definitely for niche gamers longing for that nostalgic 90s era. Straight-up simple FPS. Nothing more nothing less. It's basically the female version of Duke Nukem 3D. Think gonna pass on this game but at least it's DRM free.
