It should be "35W" TDP :).
Intel also added 2 new processors to Whiskey Lake line-up:
    Intel® Celeron® Processor 4205U
    Intel® Pentium® Gold 5405U Processor

    I'll wait for 9999U with 15W.

"Intel: NP - here you go- 9900U only 15W with base clock of 1.2Ghz "-LMAO!.
Intel also can give you 9900Y with only 5W by lowering the base clock even lower ~ 0.8Ghz LOL.

I don't think this thing would even hold up against AMD's upcoming APU's would it?!? I mean with them clocks and all it would be smashed by something with less cores and higher freqs......right?!?

Knowing what $intel does with their tdps, it will probably catch fire on a laptop.

So is this just a method for Intel to ship chips that failed binning?
    Any word on price?

I don't think that's a bad thing, it means you can get everything out of the expensive wafers and ultimately drive costs down. Only problem is that's intel we're talking about, so they'll probably be proper expensive.

I would assume so, since Intel seems to be struggling to keep up with demand and they need a high-core CPU that'll be competitive with AMD.
Price might be tricky, since this might require a Z390 board. The wattage is low enough that it should work on lower-end boards (then again, so is the 9900K...) but there's a possibility that the firmware of other chipsets won't even accept any i9s, regardless of wattage.

Could be nice to test this against a Ryzen 1700 or 2700 clocked down to 35W.
