This whole Xe branding sounds like some China company, I dont get it. Hope the cards are of any good tho. Lords of Xeen. Half life Xen. Xena. Xe.

Riftbreaker already have FSR and Hitman 3 runs high fps natively on midrange hardware. It would make more sense having the technology in something more demanding.

Too many X's and Z's in these names. It's just not cool anymore.

How about some J and L love?

    yup
even my 1070 could run this fine at 1440p
but it's the same problem with fsr as well
seems like all major triple a games have dlss 2.0. and it's understandable, not only is it the best out there, there's always some incentive to work with nvidia.they market dlss in another new triple a as much as the game developers market their own product themselves.

anyway, xess is supposed to be open,im glad im covered either way.dlss 2.0,xess,fsr - 3060ti runs everything.that's what matters.

I mean intel has sold Xeon processors for like 20 years, I'd be more inclined to think it is referencing that or Xenon / Xenos meaning " stranger "/ "enemy" /"alien" in greek.

Stupid and pointless comparison if all you are going to show is ultra compressed, low res footage.
You only do that if you want to hide undesirable aspects of what you are trying to show off.
Either release a binary anyone can run, or release a real proper A/B high bitrate downloadable comparison (Along with uncompressed image captures) or just get out.

And based on the UE4 footage they showed off before (Where they did have separate but highly compressed 4k footage), XESS is still dependent or seems to piggy back off of an engine's own built in AA or TAA like FSR. But better.
Because that 4k UE4 footage had all of the same exact TAA artifacts visible as the same footage without XESS.
This will be adoption bottleneck and quality cap bottleneck compared to DLSS/DLAA. Developers of modern games rarely implement decent AA of their own, so quality will suffer as a result. Much like FSR.

DLSS and FSR is good, but I am still waiting for foveated rendering on regular high-resolution (4K, 8K, 12K, 16K) larger 32"+ monitors using an eye tracker like Tobii :). That could reduce GPU system requirements 4-5 times for 3D and partly loaded media.

Normal vision can recognize 60 pixels (60 arc minutes) inside one degree. 60% of the total number of receptors are located in the 4° sphere radius. The central 6/6 parafoveal zone, where a person recognizes objects (letters for example) is only 5° wide. Eye cannot move faster than 7° degrees per 60Hz frame. Screen needs to show only 19° degrees (7° + 5° + 7°) in high quality - 1140px (= 19° * 60px) sphere. If screen occupies 90° FOV then, to create illusion that whole screen is rendered in super-resolution, only ~8% (= 19° x 19° / 90° x 50° (16:9)) of the screen needs to be displayed in maximum resolution on 16K screen (~1140px per 8%). If refresh is doubled to 120Hz then that area could be reduced to 12° or just ~3% (= 12° x 12° / 90° x 50° (16:9)) of the screen.

Nice trick ,1080p vs 4k xess .Should be 4k native vs 4k xess. In that moment Intel not sale GPU but sale the same liar like always.

on the bright side of things we will be able to compare the results of the technologies !
