Intel and AMD indeed needs futuristic concept cards to beat nVidia.

Plot Twist: It is not about way graphics cards will look like, but about way they will render.

Regardless, I think that concept art is a huge improvement on the plasticy, over sized, shroudy cards we keep seeing these days.

All I need from a video card, if we forget the actual functionality, is decent build quality (which includes the backside shield) and no weird resonance noises. My cases have been and will be solid, without windows, so all RGB and other such things are wasted on me, as well as fancy designs. In that sense I'd rather not take them because they would just make the card cost more. Design wise Intel has always been quite a no nonsense company, which is understandable due to their huge B2B sales, so I'm not sure how their video cards will look like. Assuming they will have reference designs. Of course it could be that they will invest on their own production initially since they have no current market share at all, but I'm sure some third party manufacturers are willing to bet on them if the GPUs are promising.

Looks super tacky and immature. Why is all PC gaming hardware designed for teenagers by grown up men who are mentally stuck as teenagers?

I read that there are more adults gaming than ever before so why can't there be normal looking PC hardware that isn't embarrassing when people come over to your house.

  11. I really just want a good cooler. Don't care how it looks, sounds, or feels. Lots of fans and nickel-plated cooper are all it takes to win me over.

I care so little about how it looks that I probably have the ugliest-looking GPU in the whole forum, both before and after I removed the original faceplate (I had to remove it so the GPU would properly fit in my ITX case):

  13. Lol, nah....the simplicity of it is beautiful. As long as it runs good. I too come from that school of thought.

I am fine with having evolving different looking gpus. I would like to see more cases offer interesting "functional"setups to display such gpus. Mostly, you are looking at the back plate.
