i setup vista on my MSI wind netbook which has a gma 950. So far all i played was emualtion games but i have quite a few older 3d pc titles and wondered if anyone thinks they would be playable on it?
thought i'd ask so i dont waste the time to dig em out.

like what about thief 2? maybe Omikron, Draken or airfix dogfighter?
so many great older 3d titles i could occupy my summer with when i'm on the go.

Morrowind plays on it, using FPS optomiser.
Independance war 2, a space game, it plays fairly well.

you'll be able to get the HL1 series to play quite well, same with CS 1.6.
HL2 will play on it, if you force -dxlevel 70.
You'll only get about 10-15fps though.

Oblivion will play if you use the shader hack, google Oldblivion. The lighting uses overbright, so it's always really bright, but it plays none the less.

Sacred 1 works, though it's not really "3D".

The MSI Wind is simular to the EEE PC, so here check this.

Live for speed, GTR/2 at a push should (this on a C2D laptop mind) and if you like FS2004 I have more good news too (it works).

I wonder if battlefield heroes will.

Battlefield 2 worked on an Intel craptastic chipset. Lowest res and lowest details.

Looking at that list made me realize that 2004-2005 had many of my favorite games that I played for a very long time and got the most enjoyment out of.

I miss bein 14 and playin those games.

The prices are a joke, of course, but the list/compilation is a very good one, imo. :)

Half life 2 was about 15-20fps in most areas. you could play the game but I didnt enjoy it much.

I just offloaded a laptop with that chipset (new compaq 15.4") and picked up a 17" toshiba with a radeon 3100 for 550 at best buy. It can run left 4 dead and does well for shared memory 30-40fps on medium settings.

With the intel chipset, it pretty much sucked at everything I threw at it other than mame. Sorry, worst graphics chipset ive seen in a while.
