Seems rather underwhelming on paper, but, this is just the first iteration so I'm willing to wait and see. Perhaps Intel is prioritizing performance-per-watt.

As usual, if it's priced right it will find a place in the market, even if underwhelming by enthusiast standards.

What are the performance estimates for these? Can they actually beat 3 years old 1060 and rx580?

no they will not maybe, but still people will take those if they have an higher feature profile or they are cheaper, or the just get in oems.

if it has 6-8 gigs of ram , i bet they are aiming for 1060 performace , which is most popular GPU right now. Still manages to play all games at 1080p with high perf ....

I feel like we keep hearing about this new GPU but it just never actually gets released. Maybe by the 4000 series it will come out.

Still having more players on the market is always a good thing for competition

I guess if they manage to make the perfect 1080p @ 60fps/120fps card (a AMD 590/Nvidia 1070 beater), they can call this a decent start, as long as it is priced aggressively. Maybe in the next round they can go for 1440p perfection, and touch upon 4k. Before coming on par with Nvidia and AMD in 2022.

Intel surprises everyone and drops some crazy card out of nowhere that whallops the 3090.

Things we aren't likely to read but it would be nice.

Exactly. Seems like they've been talking about this for years.

Ignore the power draw values. It states 960 EUs. That Xe mobile thing which was better than AMD's 8 GCN CUs had 96EUs.
That potentially makes it better than 80 GCN CUs which would be around 64 RDNA1 CUs. At similar clock.
Unless this intel's GPU loses ability to handle large volumes of data (dispatch, caches, ... or low memory bandwidth) with 10 times as many EUs as they proven to have working, it should be GPU that's relevant on performance field.
Can't speak about features, nor about drivers.

We dont need that , if they would offer 1080ti performace at good price , that would be killer ,this is what PC gaming needs, CHEAP mid range performace for MASSES.
