Not to be insensitive or anything but... how is this news?

People come and go on all companies. How is this person more relevant than other employees with equal responsibilities on other big tech companies?

^ Maybe because it's the 3rd or 4th high executive leave at Intel this year. Dunno for what reasons she left but rumors are there's power struggles and infights at Intel's upper management for a few years now.

AFAIK that's the norm on any big company, right?

Yes and no, of course there's always power struggle, like you say. But at the same time we're talking about the biggest PC chip company in the west, which has failed to reach different targets over the last years, so people are a bit more sensitive and more interested in such stories than the usual fluctuations in management. I think that's why this gets attention.
Although, at the same time it was reported when people left AMD etc. as well. It's news, but maybe not interesting to everybody.

It's amusing in a way to note that when people leave AMD it's often described as "rats leaving a sinking ship," but when people leave Intel, even after extremely short durations of employment, it's described as "normal business operations."...;) Intel has been operating under anything but "normal" conditions for the past few years, it has to be noted. People leaving a company after several years is normal--leaving after a 12-18 months isn't, especially in the case of highly paid, high-profile employees, imo.

Intel is a leader in CPU technology and has long reigned as the worlds number one CPU maker in power and sales but recently they have hit some crazy speed bumps along the way and their attempt at 10nm failed big time which left them in the shizzle.

People started to question their ability to move on from 14nm where they dominated for so long. Seems yields were terrible on their 10nm and 7nm products so they had no idea what to do about it leaving AMD with the chance to be top dog once again with their Zen3. I think AMD will take the crown but for how long is the question.

Intel is feeling the heat and when that happens heads roll. Infact many heads of the company have been let go.

The positive from all this is we get better faster chips with higher clocks and lower power draw while increasing core amount and price. I believe the 4700X will be around £300 which is mental really when you think of Intel prices over the years with anything with over 4 cores. If it wasn't for AMD then Intel would still be selling 4c/8t cpus.

More public relations, but yeah - that ballpark...she also worked at healthcare and beauty companies...so no great loss at all.

We could sing the rat leaving the sinking ship song or play the normal business operation, doesn't matter.
Guess that a person is tired to be asked endesly what I am about to ask.
News or not, where are the 7 nm CPU Intel?
